Contract signed on May 5, 2022 50% deposit via check on May 5, 2022 for $2675.00 Demolition of deck May 23, 2022 Second payment after demolition on May 24, 2022 for $2005.75 Installation began May 28, 2022 Deck completed by June 13, 2022 Payment of $2005.75 on June 7, 2022 via check. For extra work, payment of $547.52 via Venmo on June 16, 2022.Final cost: $7234.02 Contract was for $5350 Noticed issues with deck railings on June 16, 2022. Over the next two weeks, the deck boards started to pop up. First contact with Gigis deck was July 1, 2022. We repeatedly sent messages to Gigis deck trying to get them to come back and fix the issues. It wasnt until July 22, 2022 when I mentioned going to the Better Business Bureau, gave a 1 star reviewed, told them that I spread the word that their workmanship was poor (including images) to local groups, friends and family was when they finally replied. Giancarlo returned to our home on Wednesday, July 28. This is the conversation he had with my husband regarding fixing the deck.Railing concerns: Railings not attached flush, visible gaps underneath top railing and post, exposed posts without railing coverage, free standing seams not fully connected or affixed with nails popping out and boards warping.Response: I will hammer this down and attached screws, nothing I can do about boards warping. I will add a clear sealant to the exposed post. Do you want to pay $85 for a 20ft railing? Otherwise it would take 3 seams to fix this area. I will connect with another nail. While I did replace the railing, we never talked about seamless railings.Decking concerns: board popping up, nails popping up, uneven deck boards (causing ridges), sagging section of deck with no blocking (paid additional money for blocking between joists).Response: Im not god, I wish I were. Will sand down the ridges and put in some screws. Sand down ends of boards coming up. S**** the perimeter of the deck where boards are coming up.
