My name is ***********************. I am filing a complaint against Miche Fest, a Chicago festival presented by Tribu Presents. I purchased general admission tickets for the (Sunday) Miche Fest on June 3rd when they were first released for sale. The tickets were initially released in three tiers due to high demand, with Tier 1 and Tier 2 already sold out when I made my purchase. I paid a total of $520.08 for two tickets, equating to $260.04 per ticket. As of July 5th, tickets were being sold with promotional codes such as "15% off" or "Buy three get 1 free" and are now being sold through a third-party company, Ticketon, for $153.49 per ticket or $306.98 total for two. This pricing has been confirmed as valid by Miche Fest representatives. It appears that ticket pricing was inflated during the initial sales period, creating a sense of urgency for customers to purchase at a higher cost. This practice is concerning and does not align with ethical business standards. I understand that demand can be difficult to predict, but offering tickets at almost half the price shortly after the initial sale is unfair to early purchasers. I contacted Tribu's support team and received a response that I found to be less than satisfactory. I have attached email threads for your reference. As the situation progresses, more individuals are becoming aware and voicing their concerns. It is my belief that this situation may be fraudulent, its a scam. The lack of accountability and willingness to address the issue is extremely troubling. As of today, 07/11/24, tickets have dropped to $169 on their official website . So not just the third party website , but their actual website .
