Bought a vintage guitar online for $******. I asked if it was all orig. at time of purchase. I went over entire guitar with him and he said it was all orig. I also told him that if i found anything non orig. about the guitar i could send it back for full refund and he agreed. When i got the guitar i looked it over very carefully and noticed that the guitar had been refinished at one time, it was also refretted and one of the pots had been changed. All these changes severly lower the value of vintage guitars. I called him and he said the finish was real and he refused to comment on the other issues.I am an expert on vintage guitars for over **************************************** I told him i am sending the guitar back and he said he was dissapointed. I sent the guitar back to ******* priority mail. They tried to deliver it but they never excepted it or went to pick it up or answer any of my calls or emails. They refuse to give me my money back. They lied about the condition of the guitar and my ****** dollars is being held by them. I need that money and besides not keeping their promise and word to me they state a policy online that they have a 3 day return policy and they wont honor that either

    Business Response

On April 13, ****, *********************** purchased a **** Fender Telecaster from our store, via a direct phone sale. We have been in the business since ****, and are a trusted, well respected name in the industry. Based on a previous transaction with us, and ****** reputation in the industry, we were very reluctant to do the deal. There are countless stories of Mr. ******* bad business doings / ethics through the years. In fact, just 2 years ago, he was sued for selling a counterfeit guitar. This is public knowledge. Because of his history, we were apprehensive and insisted on a bank wire for payment. We take every major form of payment (credit card, PayPal, etc), but could not fully trust ****************. During the process of the sale, **************** was often forgetful over the phone, not remembering previous conversations about the guitar we had discussed. We believe ****************, who is retired, not to be well. After several conversations over the phone discussing the details of the guitar, as well as sending detailed photographs of every part of the guitar via email, we reluctantly proceeded and did the deal. **************** said he couldnt play guitar anymore, but was bored since retirement, and purchased the guitar to sell.  **************** received and signed for the guitar on Wednesday, April 19th. He then reached out via email on Monday, April 24th, making false accusations about the guitar, and said hes sending it back. This return was not authorized. **************** also claimed he had a 3 day approval period, based on our Reverb.com policy. This guitar was NOT purchased on Reverb. But hypothetically, even if it had been, he tried returning the guitar 5 days after receiving. **************** chose to ship the guitar back, without authorization, via ***************** *************** The guitar never arrived at our store, and weve never had possession of it again. Now **************** is lying, making threats, and slandering our name. We will respond with a defamation lawsuit if he continues..
