Unfortunately, our freezer and refrigerator were connected to that gfi. this was early in the day , temp of 95 or 100 my fridge completely warmed at 51 or 52 the freezer also thawed out to whereblood pooled from meat that defrosted. Business Response

Our first communication with this consumer was in the hours following the completion of the referenced inspection. This inspection was performed on behalf of a client, who was referred to us by their realtor. Like many home inspectors, some of our clients come from realtor referrals, which is a standard industry practice. This consumer, who was the owner of the home being inspected, was present at the beginning of the inspection, and most importantly, with our inspectors while they were in the garage. After they completed their inspection of the garage, and noted an inoperative GFCI outlet, which was included in our inspection report, consumer requested the inspectors accompany her to the upstairs area of the home to see inside of her medicine cabinet as it was required to remain locked at all times. The inspection continued to its completion. Later that evening, ****** was contacted directly by the consumer, with claims of their garage refrigerator being turned off, and frozen food being spoiled. There was no mention of medicine during this initial communication, and no request for a specific monetary amount. ******, in good faith, was willing to consider covering the cost of the reportedly damaged food, and asked the consumer to make a list of the food in the fridge. Many weeks later, after having not heard from the consumer, we were once again contacted by her. This time, there was an inclusion of the referenced medication, which was accompanied by her informing us of her husband's  potential layoff. As there was no mention of medicine at the initial discussion, and based on the consumer's claim of the importance of this medicine, we were unwilling to cover the costs which consumer claimed were in the thousands of dollars range. A solution was offered to the consumer which she deemed would "take too long" and "drag this out" and she proceeded to demand we send her two thousand dollars immediately and offered strange threats saying things such as "we have you on video". After refusing to comply with her demand, consumer left negative reviews on multiple public review pages, stating her grievances and providing falsehoods about our company. Like with any inspection company, and as required by law, we carry insurance. Our company consulted with legal counsel, and was instructed to cease communication with the consumer, instruction which we then followed. This is the first we have heard from this person since November of last year, despite her claims of a failure to return calls. Her attempt to benefit financially from us seemed extortionist and misleading, and we decided to defer all communication to legal counsel to protect the best interest of our company and employees.
