    I found ******* ad on ********** to render home repair services on 8/10. He came out to my home on 8/13 to do a walkthrough and quoted me $6000 for everything total. He asked for a 50% deposit. He initially was supposed to give me a copy of his business license and his driver license but once we got to the bank, the lines were so long we started chatting and it slipped my mind. He drafted me and invoice/contract and he noted our verbal agreement and sent it to me via email. At the time, I was caring for my grandmother with dementia and he noted he would not be able to start work with anyone there as the home would not be habitable during the renovation. He said now that I provided him the deposit, I was locked in and he would begin once I was ready. The next week I asked to start work and he postponed saying it was his birthday and he didnt want to start the project and have to pause work during his vacation. Coincidentally my birthday was 2 days after his and I too was going on vacation. We agreed he would begin work once I returned from vacation. Upon my arrival I contacted ****** to set up a date to begin services. He stated he was busy and would contact me the next day. The next day I reached out to him and he then began being unresponsive. He then blocked me. I had several people call his phone and he then pretended he didnt speak English and that we had the wrong number.
