    Swedish American Hospital sent me a bill for a service that should have been covered by my insurance. The bill shows they have not billed my insurance at all before invoicing me. It is impossible that they do not have my insurance information because it was included on the referral and I could not have scheduled the appointment without them receiving the referral. The invoice date was 10/21/2023 (I received the invoice on 10/28/2023) and they are expecting payment by 11/10/2023. I have called their billing department 10 times over two business days using the phone number and the office hours listed on the invoice and have been unable to contact anyone about this bill. Most of the time when I select the billing department on their call menu the call is immediately ended. Twice it has put me on hold and then directed me to leave a message, which they have not responded to. Once the call was ended while I was attempting to leave said message. Only once was I successful in reaching a customer support representative who said they were transferring me to billing and then the call immediately ended. At this point it is obvious that I will not be able to contact the billing department and have them correct the mistake before the 11/10/2023 deadline.

    I spoke with this customer on 11/15/2023 regarding this grievance. Customer explained that she received a valid referral from her provider for her procedure on DOS 10/17/2023. Customer proceeded with the procedure only to receive a bill days later for the service provided to her. Customer made several attempts to reach the billing office to address this matter but had much difficulty reaching the department.

    I escalated this request for assistance to my contact in the billing office on 11/15/2023. My contact in billing confirmed that the claim for services provided on 10/17/23 had not been submitted to the customer's health insurance provider as the system had somehow erroneously flagged her coverage as elapsed. Ms. ******** insurance coverage was re-verified and the claim was submitted to her health insurance provider. No additional information is required from ****************** at this time. I have also requested that the billing office reach out to the customer directly to provide confirmation and address any additional concerns she may have.

    No additional action beyond what is stated above is necessary at this time.

    I feel like I was extorted for money by *********************************, Director of Public Safety at Swedish Covenant Hostpital in *******, ** and that the hospital mistreated me when I was trapped in their parking garage. I was contacted by a ******* Police detective who notified me that the director of public safety was considering pressing charges on me for criminal destruction to property for pushing up their parking barrier. The detective put me in contact with the director. I met him at the hospital with a check for $500 to pay for the damages. I wrote the check to the hospital and he signed a receipt. When the incident occurred, I tried to pay several times and called the attendant several times on the intercom. I was calm and not at all temperamental, which is all on camera and noted by the detective when we spoke. After being hung up on a couple times and eventually told that they wouldn't help me, I remained trapped in the garage. Not knowing what else to do, I pushed up the barrier to get out. I did not do so with force. I simply pushed it up, not thinking any damage was caused. As I stated, I tried several times to resolve the issue, calmly and had no issue paying over the phone or with cash, but they just ignored me. They left me with no other option to get out of the garage. I had absolutely no intention of committing a criminal act. I get the impression that this individual has made this decision on his own and is not following any sort of hostpital policy. I have not seen a bill for the damage, if any damage was even caused or spoke with any legal representative at the hospital. I feel that their negligence in not assisting me with my parking issue and then blaming me for it is unreasonble. I've been using that parking garage for years and have never had this issue and always paid. I am kind of afraid to make this report out of fear of retaliation.

    Swedish covenant hospital keeps sending my account to collections. This has been a problem and affecting my credit for years. I have spoke to several people from the hospital and even tried to dispute the charges but have gotten no where. I get multiple calls a day in regards to a **** that they should have never billed me for in the first place. The collection agency representatives are rude and keep telling me that I owe different amounts. This is harassment. I wouldnt have to deal with this if Swedish covenant hospital wouldnt have out right ignored me when I asked them to **** my insurance. I was only responsible for the co-pay. In 2018 I was in a 3 car accident and went to the emergency room. At the hospital, the employee never took my insurance information and I assumed it was because Swedish covenant was my regular hospital and they were able to look my info ** in the system when I provided my ********* later I got a hospital **** for over $400. I called immediately to ask why they didnt **** my insurance and they said because I told them it was a car accident and they assume the car insurance would pay the ****. I told them to **** the insurance, in fact I told them several times to **** my insurance so much it became annoying every time they kept sending the same **** out. After a while I didnt hear anything and thought the issue was resolved. Didnt realize until awhile later when it showed up on my credit report. Now, 4 years later it is still on my credit report, Im still getting harassing phone calls and Swedish Covenant has not fixed the issue. I dont understand why this was never billed by my insurance. I shouldnt have to deal with harassing **** collectors when I did my part- which was pay my insurance to settle claims. Someone didnt do their job correctly.
