    I hired the Professionals Moving Specialists to move from *********************************************************** to ******************************************************** The movers accidentally destroyed a lamp and bed frame. These ******* items were bought in the last 3 years. I sent them receipts, which totaled to about $1,400. They answered my email promptly, but the person handling the claim (******** ext. 203) has never answered my calls. They sent a $200 check, which I don't believe covers the damages. THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE, however. I feel I was coerced into paying in cash because they charge a 4% fee otherwise. This means I now have no leverage to charge them back. I tipped $400, and spent $1,910 on this move. They still won't answer my calls.

    There was zero coercion by The Professionals to pay for his move in cash.  We require payment via cashiers check, money order, cash or credit, all documentation is on stated up front when the client signs the estimate for moving services.  He was not coerced, he was able to pay by any of those means.
     
    With regard to his move, he had minor damages to a bedframe, the client signed the estimate choosing movers limited liability which is thirty (.30) per pound per article as mandated by the State of IL.  I explained to him that we were only obligated under the coverage he had chosen.  However, I increased the amount of the payment to $200.00, since he would have otherwise received $15.00.  He had called after he received the $200.00 stating he did not understand why we were not paying him for the cost of the bedframe that was 3 years old.  I explained the coverage chosen by him and advised him that we in fact were generous with the amount paid, he understood but seemed very upset at his choice. I offered him an additional $200.00, to which I paid him. 
     
    We are a very fair company, I am actually shocked that he chose to file a complaint as this was more than fully satisfied.  I believe that there is a possibility that he filed a complaint prior to the additional $200.00 we paid.  But the balance of his complaint is completely invalid.
