- Additional Info:The contract offered locks consumers into a five-year plan. Consumers should evaluate the plan and pricing offered to see if it represents savings for them. The contract does not guarantee that the consumer will save money with this offer. Consumers should be aware that signing the contract switches them from their existing natural gas supplier to Illinois Natural Gas. The plan also allows the company to raise gas charges in the future. Under the terms of the contract, if Illinois Natural Gas notifies a consumer of a change in the price it is offering the consumer has thirty days to tell the company that they want to keep the terms of the original agreement. Consumers that want to cancel the program after the initial four day cancellation period must pay an exit fee. A fact sheet provided by the Citizens Utility Board reminds consumers that this offer is optional and if consumers do not sign up they will continue to be served by their utility, with rates and services regulated by the ICC.
