    Shady Business Practices - Avoid at All Costs I recently had a highly disappointing experience at Berman Subaru of Chicago and am sharing my story to prevent others from falling into their predatory trap. Upon arriving at the dealership, the salesman who had contacted me via email acted like he did not remember confirming the car was available a few hours prior. Weird. Despite this, I decided to proceed with the process. I informed them that I would be paying cash, to which they initially agreed. However, when they discovered that the cash was loaned to me from my bank, their attitudes completely changed. The next two hours were spent with them aggressively trying to convince me to use their financing, with tactics that were both high-pressure and deceptive. They constantly repeated phrases like, "You don't like saving money?" even though their "better deal" would have cost me $125 more per month. This is because they charge interest on the entire cost of the car instead of just the amount you are borrowing. And when you question it, they try to talk circles around you. Worst of all, despite my repeated requests not to, they went ahead and filled out my check from the bank for the full amount. When confronted, they blamed a young employee who we had not been working with for the mistake, clearly trying to dodge responsibility. The ** was particularly rude and displayed scummy behavior indicative of the shady business practices rampant at this dealership. 3.5 hours and no sale because we wouldn't finance with them. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere.

    Great amazing experience!! Made it so easy to buy a vehicle! **************, and **** welcome my family into the Subaru family. Best buying experience ever!

    I recently brought my WRX into the service department for a check engine light . It turned out to be a multiple cylinder misfire(Po300). After doing my own research I asked the service department to make sure they check the spark plugs and everything else thats associated with that problem. The service department diagnosed my vehicle and said that I need to clean my intake manifold which is a **** dollar service, and upon inspection everything else including my spark plugs was fine . I declined the service to get a second opinion. Not only did Berman Subaru misdiagnose the problem they tried to charge me for a service that I did not need nor would it have fixed the issue. The second opinion found that my spark plugs were fouled which indicates that Subaru never investigated the spark plugs like I had requested . Do not bring your vehicle here for service if you do not have the warranty. Before I left the service advisor said for an additional fee they can inspect the vehicle to make sure that thats the problem. Save yourself the 220 dollars that I wasted and go somewhere else.
