On their website: working to understand, meet, and exceed the needs of our clients. If that means increasing rent without doing repairs - waiting for you to leave the unit by consistently sending documents in typical lawyer fashion - new rehab lease, rent increase, etc. etc. They bought a building where the unit needs tons of work-ceiling repairs, plumbing repairs, cabinets need repair, windows need repair, and I can go on and on. Previous landlord didnt do it, just was tired and wanted to sell. Understandable. Now Ark comes in increasing rent, cleaning up the outside - all good things of course - but why not fix a unit? Ark would rather you sign a new lease at a price unsuitable for the unit or the area. Fix the unit, get it in order, and then there is justification for the increase, and not just thats what the going rate is. Im sure the going rate units in the area dont have cracked ceilings, faucet issues, windows that dont open, etc. Even the previous landlord know their ultimate goal is they want someone whos lived in the unit 6+ years out. So, increase the rent, refuse to fix any repairs, choose to ignore requests, and just wait for you to leave. Do they even deserve 1 star? Im writing this knowing, and they know too, its way to expensive for me to do all this on my own. If I could I would. Im just trying to live comfortably within my means. Ive done what I could - ceiling fan in LR, AC in BR yet they, Ark, assuming only knows what they hear from previous landlord. So, no one wants to do anything. Way too expensive. Isnt this what a landlord is supposed to do? Or at least one of the things. You pay, management takes care of the upkeep. With all this said, I am planning on leaving. No need staying where youre not wanted. Is this age discrimination, financial discrimination, unsure? Yet, I know it doesnt feel good. Tired of the cost increases, only one way is the right way attitude. Im out. Sad; who knows how many others are affected.
