My tenant and I applied for court based rental assistance Dec 2024 completed application 1/3/25; we were originally denied due to "unable to verify address"; I had trouble with filling with courts they do not do the court cases in person anymore was advised must be done online and via different court house. I am not that computer savvy once finally obtained all required documents and case number re applied and again was denied was told the finding is final. When assistance is needed all grants/programs should have an appeal option; and support team to assure the correct documents are uploaded in timely fashionably. I called for months was not able to get anyone on the phone to help at **** or the court efile chat for it to take 3-4 months to complete application properly and denied due to an employee refusal to properly review documents and assist is crazy. Now I am facing foreclosure; with no clue of how to bring mortgage current being as though so much time has been vested in this program.

On July 19, 2023 I closed on my home with the Illinois Housing Development Authority as my lender. After all of my grants I paid $88,000 for my home. I even did escrow. Everything was great with them as my lender until this month June 9, 2024 when I received June 2024s bill. My mortgage payment went from $850 to $1,061. I called the Illinois Housing Development Authority to discuss why my bill changed after one year. They said someone on their end messed up calculating how much would be in my escrow account and they were very much short. Because of this miscalculation I have to suffer with $1,061 a month mortgage payment for the next year to make up for that. Why should I the customer have to pay for their miscalculation when I live paycheck to paycheck as is?

I got approved for rental assistance last year and a check was mailed out for $24601.32, someone stole my check and cashed it. I have been calling, and emailing everyday since then. ************************************* finally reached out and sent me a fraud packet May 3, 2023. I promptly filled it out got it notarized and mailed it back to ***** Fargo, and emailed a copy to ************************************* like the instructions told me too. I tried and tried to contact ************************************* by phone and I literally emailed her hundreds of time, then I got an email saying that ************************************* took the whole summer off, and forwarded me to another person *******************. I have been trying to contact ******************* by phone and email since May 10th of this year, she hasnt bothered to call me back or email me. My wife and I had twins March 1, 2022, one of the girls didnt make it, then we had another baby girl April 24, 2023, and its getting more and more difficult to devote 5 hours a day trying to get a replacement check. I originally contacted IHDA in September of 2022, and I have been getting the run around since. **** doesnt seem to care about the people that they are telling the world that they are helping.

I applied for the Illinois Hardest Hit Program in November 2016. I was told that as long as I keep my property for 5 years the loan that was given to get my mortgage paid up would be forgiven. 5 years would be November 2021. I sold my building in January ****************************** a prorated amount stating that the agencies working for them gave borrowers incorrect information. And that it should have been 6 years. I had to pay $6, ****** to IHHH. I spoke to ***** at IHHH and she told me that she had 17 people call with the same issue and there was nothing they could do about it. We were all just given incorrect information. This is not fair to borrowers. We went by the information given to us and that we signed agreeing to. IHHH should not be able to go against a signed contract. Therefore, I am owed my money back.
