      Better Business Bureau:

      Inteliquent/Sinch Voice submits this response to Complaint No. 21305368.

      Inteliquent/Sinch Voice and its subsidiaries are wholesale providers of telecommunications interconnection services.  Primarily, we carry telecommunications traffic between the networks of other providers.  Our provision of these services is as a common carrier, and we carry voice traffic to and from virtually every major and regional telecom provider in *****************.  Inteliquent/Sinch Voice does not make calls to consumers.

      Our customers are not individuals; generally, they are other telecommunications providers, and it is our wholesale customers who provide services to the individuals who use telephone numbers to make calls.  Pursuant to federal Customer Proprietary Network Information regulations, our service provider customers cannot disclose information about their end user customers to us.  Therefore, in order to resolve most complaints, we must notify our wholesale customers and they must then initiate an investigation into the complaint and take action to resolve the issue.

      That process was followed for this complaint.  The complaint was forwarded to our wholesale customer for investigation; it is our understanding that the telephone number that is the subject of this complaint, **********, is inactive and is not assigned to an end user.

      In this case, it is likely that the calling number has been "spoofed.  Spoofing occurs when the caller falsifies Caller ID information so that it displays a phone number that did not make the call and neither we nor our customer knows what number or person made the call.  As such, we are unable to assist the complainant with the unwanted calls she is receiving from this number.

      To stop unwanted calls, the complainant can block the number on her smartphone or contact her own service provider for assistance in blocking the calls.  Please further note that the complainant can report these matters directly to Inteliquent/Sinch Voice via the form on our website at this link:***************************************************************

      Regards,
      Inteliquent/Sinch Voice

      Better Business Bureau:

      Inteliquent/Sinch Voice submits this response to Complaint No. 21255585.

      Inteliquent/Sinch Voice and its subsidiaries are wholesale providers of telecommunications interconnection services.  Primarily, we carry telecommunications traffic between the networks of other providers.  Our provision of these services is as a common carrier; we carry voice traffic to and from virtually every major and regional telecom provider in *****************.  Inteliquent/Sinch Voice does not make calls to consumers.

      That action was taken in this case.  We have notified the wholesale customer to whom telephone number ********** is assigned and requested that they investigate and take appropriate action to stop the calls which includes adding the complainants telephone number to all applicable do not call lists.

      Regards,
      Inteliquent/Sinch Voice

      Business Response

      Date: 03/08/2024

      In this case, as noted in our original response dated February 16, 2024, we forwarded this complaint to the wholesale customer to whom telephone number ********** is assigned and requested that they conduct an investigation into the complaint and take appropriate action which they have done.

      In this case, it is our understanding that our customers end user called the complainants telephone number one time on February 6, 2024.  It is our further understanding that the complainant did not answer the original call but did call the number back that same day and that, pursuant to her first call, her telephone number was immediately placed on its internal do not call list with no subsequent calls being made to her number.   Our customer further advised that on February 6, 2024, the complainant then made 31 additional calls to telephone number **********.

      A review of our call detail records showed only one call to the complainants telephone number from telephone number ********** as well as the 32 calls from the complainants telephone number to telephone number ********** noted by our wholesale customer.

      As such, it appears that our customer took appropriate action by immediately adding the complainants telephone number to its internal do not call list as a result of her initial call to them.  If the complainant has call examples showing that she received additional calls from telephone number ********** we request that she provide the following information on a per call basis:

      1. Calling Number;
      2. Called Number;
      3. Date of Call;
      4. Time of Call (including time zone).

      Otherwise, we believe this matter is resolved.
