As a chamber board member I was asked to take a class from ServeSafe regarding serving alcohol as I will be volunteering at events where I may be serving. The chamber gave me a prepaid code to use when registering for the class which I attempted to use however, the registration page required a credit card. On April 21, 2025 I registered for the class and typically when a credit card is requested, even when using a prepaid code, I have experienced being able to enter a prepaid code on the checkout page but did not see this as an option. When I checked out they used my credit card instead of the prepaid code. I ended up paying $30 for the class even though the class was prepaid by the chamber. On April 28, ****************************************************** which they have been responsive but have not refunded my $30. They have refused as they have a no refund policy on digital classes. Here is the policy:"Online Products: All purchases of online products, including but not limited to online courses and online exams are final, nonrefundable, and nonreturnable. This is an understandable policy in some cases, however, when a class has been paid for twice it is like stealing if no refund is made on one of the orders. If this company continues these practices it is likely only a matter of time before this affects more peoples finances and their trust in healthy business practices.

On September 25th I purchased and online course with the exam to get my food managers certification to open a business in ******** *****. The course and exam were stated to be online according to the website. I began taking the course and the video for the course froze up and would not play beyond the point where it froze. At that time, thinking that it was my laptop, I went home from work (closed my shop for the day) and tried playing the course on my husbands laptop. This did not work either, it froze at the same place and would not play beyond that point. I tried on my phone with the same results. Frantic, because I have to take the exam and get certified within a timeframe to pass inspection and get our certificate of occupancy to even open my store, I decided to try my luck just taking the exam. This did not work, the exam was unavailable without the code that would be received after completing the course. I called customer service and told them that I needed to take the exam right away. This is when they informed me that I would have to find a local proxy, pay that proxy for the second half of the code for the exam to be able to take the exam. There were two proxy's in our area, neither of which answered my calls or emails. Those two proxy's were going to charge again the amount that I had already paid for the course and exam bringing my total to over ****** By this time, the health inspector was already at my shop for the inspection. He suggested I use another company to get the exam taken and helped me look it up online. I paid 360 training company only *****, not 300, for the exam and received my certification within an hour and was able to get our certificate of occupancy that day. Serve Safe was a complete waste of my time and money, when I requested a full refund for not even being able to take the course and exam, they offered me the insult of *****. I do not recommend this company and our local health department didn't either.

Website does not clearly state when buying a book with online exam that you will then be in charge of paying your ******* an additional fee. ServSafe does not provide ******* information that is valid, ******* phone numbers given, no longer worked for ServSafe because ServSafe wont pay them. When u try to schedule the exam ServSafe then says it will be an additional $62 but says the money doesnt go to ServSafe. It feels like youre being scammed

I completed the ** Servsafe alcohol course in Jan due to my license expiring June. Servsafe never notified me that their was an issue with my **** number so when I called the state ****, the informed me that my course I had taken was no good since my scores were not reported in a timely manner. I reached out to servsafe June 12 and June 24th my license expired June 25 and nobody got back to me until June 27th after the **** restricted me from legally working. It was then I found out that they assumed that my permit had been issued based on the **** number I provided but it was not. They stated I had to retest but have not clarified if I have to take the whole class or not after I have asked as this prevents me from working. I wasted my money here now I have to take another 3.5 hour course with another company because no one in compliance can answer a yes or no question on if I can purchase the $18 retest only. Now Im at a stand still due to lack of communication.

Purchased a servsafe course from the national restaurant association. $179. They will not provide me the information I need to take the test. They are saying they have no record of me making a purchase. I have the book and test sheet physically in my hand. Right this second. I believe the company is actively committing fraud.

Invoice Number:16N8170863 Date:5/15/2023 Payment Total$190.86 First time taking the virtual online proctored exam and service was said to be provided without technical difficulties and delays and I was not reimbursed properly for the amount of time I had to deal with technical difficulties that were not my fault. I was completely distracted from taking the initial exam and I feel that I should be given a waiver or at least 25%-40% off the price to take the exam properly. Company did not provide a fair enough satisfaction and I believe they are well capable and equipped to do so but are just being naive to my unfortunate situation by referring back to their company guidelines. I do not feel as if I was given a fair chance it felt like it was rushed due to the technical difficulties that resulted in me failing.
