I ordered dried elderberries on 11-18-2023. When I received them I noticed 2 stickers over the original harvest and used by dates. I noticed that the address was different so I thought because of a change in address. When peeling off the stickers I found 3 different used by dates, this is false advertising. My elderberries are already expired. Original use by date is 10,2022, so they put another sticker saying use bt date saying 10,2023. Then another sticker saying use by 10,2024. Harvest date on the original packaging says 2020. I think this should be looked into and stopped!! Thank you

    Business Response

    Date: 11/28/2023

    Hi there

We understand the concern here and validate their perspective on the situation.

However, we have provided the information to Amazon for the EXP date correction.  This has two parts

    1) Printing of packaging: The packages were pre-printed early and the overage of the bags for an older batch were used for a newer batch. So, we had to have the EXP Dates corrected.  So, it was a true harvest year of 2021 (not 2020). So, we set it for 2 years from harvest
    2) Shelf-life of elderberries: We then found that we were too conservative on the shelf-life as elderberries have 3 years or more of shelf-life. So, we then had to correct it again to **** rather than 2023 in order to match the shelf-life for the actual berries within that package.

We again apologize for the issue and concern, as it is totally understandable, yet the berries are truly not expired and have nearly an entire year left of shelf-life

I don't believe that we ever heard from the customer on this but are more than happy to provide further support & replacements as we do for all of our customers of concern

    Thank you
