On the morning of March 6, 20**, I witnessed a worker of M+J Works break a rail on my front yard fence. Instead of walking the ***** feet around the fence, he decided to try and jump over it. I immediately confronted him and asked for a certificate of insurance. He gave me attitude and kept telling me he didn't have one. I told him to call his boss and get it. He was on the phone w/ God knows who (probably no one at all). At that point I told him to have the certificate of insurance emailed to me. I receive an email from "*******************" with no subject, no text, and no attachments. I followed up and called the office phone # for M+J's ******* office. I got some woman who immediately became combative with me and told me to file an incident report with the police. So, now I am waisting the time of the police. The cop hands me a business card with the officer's name and report number stating that this will serve as the report. I call M+J's office back to give them the report #, and get the same nasty and disagreeable office admin answered. She then told me that I needed to get them a different type of report because that's "their process." When I asked if they were licensed, bonded and insured she got even more hostile. I DO NOT THINK THIS BUSINESS IS INSURED! All they need to do is provide me a certificate with their general liability insurance carrier on it, and they can't produce it. I would like the certificate of insurance emailed to me by Friday March 8, 20** so I can work with the insurance company to repair my property. My email is *************************** If they need an incident report, THEY can contact the Highwood P.D. @ ************** Ask for report/case # **-1176 prepared by officer ********* I also intend on reporting the company to the appropriate state agency for not being adequately insured.

During routine work on March 6, one of our employees accidentally damaged a single, aging fence rail belonging to the complainant. The claim was handled politely and expeditiously. ****************** was provided with a certificate of insurance within a day of the damage, showing that our firm is fully insured and carrying all appropriate coverage. The fence was repaired free of charge by our crew on March 7, the following day. I have attached a photo where you can see the repair. While we do not deny our worker accidentally damaged the fence post during routine operations in the area surrounding Mr. ******** home, following an internal inquiry, we do however take issue with the negative characterization of our staffs interactions regarding this matter. We believe this unfortunate issue was handled cordially, professionally and quickly. Our firm is committed to handling these matters in a positive way for all involved parties. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused ******************. If there are any further issues, we invite him to reach out to us directly so we can work together to find a suitable resolution.

I am rejecting this response because before the company's employee damaged my fence by acting carelessly, I had an approximately 50 foot run of fence that was uniform in appearance; now I do not.  They trespassed onto my property either late night or early morning so as not to be noticed and inserted a rail that in no way, shape or form provides a reasonably uniform appearance, and is comically larger than the rails surrounding it. Why else would they neglect to announce their presence before attempting any repair?  Why else would they neglect to send me an email asking permission to  attempt a repair? ************** had my email address.  The answer is obvious, they knew it would look terrible and any rational property owner would have objected.   But, to them it is reasonable because it is not their property.  None of them live here, so, who cares about diminished property values and creating an eye sore for me and my neighbors as long as they get out of this situation on the cheap.  I truly believe that If I had not witnessed their employee cause the damage in real time and confront him about it then and there, no one would have owned up to it. No one would have knocked on my door, or left a note in my mail box, so the Company can spare us all the phony indignance of their response.  I was the one wronged here, by them; not the other way around.  I do not want any further communication from the Company or any of its employees. I am currently working with the ******************************** on trying to get the ******************* carrier to settle equitably so that I can restore the damaged section of fence to pre-loss condition; 50 feet of fence that is reasonably uniform in appearance.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************
