Paid this company $44,000 to paint the exterior of my house, install a new garage man door, a new garage window, and install a new metal roof. He had done some flooring for me at work, and I didn't have any issues. He told me that he also has a construction crew, so we hired him to do this work. We did ask if he was insured and bonded and he said yes, I guess I should have asked for proof. They started my job on July 6, 2022 and finished it on August 17, 2023. On August 7, 2022 they left the ridge vent off of my upper roof which stained four of my ceilings: bedroom, hallway, bathroom, and kitchen. He did knock some off the original bill because all of my ceilings have to be re-painted. On December 13, 2022 we had a significant amount of rain, and it rained in my upstairs bathroom ruining the drywall. My husband got in the upstairs attic to find what was leaking. The boot they installed around my furnace/water heater vent was improperly installed, it actually acted as a funnel. I called to file a claim with his insurance company, and it lapsed at the end of November for nonpayment. State Farm said that the claim would go off the date of occurrence of December 13th which he did not have a good standing policy. I'm going to have to paint repair two rooms drywall, and paint 5 ceilings. We decided to get a new metal roof, because we had a roof leak, and it was coming in through our Family Room ceiling. Low and behold when it rained on December 13th it rained in my family room! I finally just got somebody to come look at it yesterday, waiting to find out what they recommend. To top it all off, the check that they wrote for the materials for my roof bounced, and the roofing company showed up at my door to place a lien on my property because the materials weren't paid for. Luckily, they missed the window of opportunity to place this lien on my property.
