FAULTY INSTALLATION, COSTLY EXPERIENCE WITH RELLAIRE IL.This company, formerly doing business as ACE HEATING & COOLING, installed a complete ***** HVAC system in 2022. System has had multiple fails since then. I spent $14,000 for the 2022 installation, and since then, another $1,200 spent on Rellaire service calls to GET IT RIGHT. Including a gas control valve (***** ***** Gas was called, shut off my furnace and red-tagged it), and now I have done an electrical supply overhaul. Since new, the A/C compressor has buzzed on startup, and lately has been throwing the circuit breaker on startup. I contacted Rellaire. They visited and charged $**8, no work done. I contacted a licensed electrician. Here is what he found and fixed:1) Replace outside power supply conduit and 90-degree angle fitting with parts rated for outdoor use. conduit was burned from shorting at the 90-degree angle fitting (90-degree was too small for the wire, copper exposed). The 90-degree angle fitting was not sealed or rated for outdoor use, it had no internal seals and no sealer was used. ********* had been going into the house via conduit since installation. The conduit leading to the fusebox carried water from this 90-degree angle to the fuse panel, about 1 cup of ***** water was drained out of this conduit when the wiring was pulled 2) Wiring was undersized for this large A/C compressor, he removed #8 wiring, and replaced wiring with #6 completely - from junction box to fuse panel.3) Replace breakers #** and #**, each 50A, on the A/C circuit.4) Dry out the breaker panel, conduit continued to drain ***** water for about an hour. I requested $600 reimbursement from Rellaire for this electrical work. No response from them.
