My husband and I signed up with Buddy’s home furniture in august of 2023 with a payment plan for weekly payments due on Saturdays in the amount of 120.20. This balance was for a couch, stove, refrigerator and coffee table/end table set. We got behind on payments and on January 31st I contacted the account manager via text message and informed them that we could not afford to make up the payments and we put the furniture in our sun room for them to be able to pick up the product. We did it that way due to them destroying our floor when it was delivered,we wanted to avoid that from happening again as well as the severity of the threats being made if not returned on time. We are unable to be home during the day as well. She informed me they were not able to pick up the following day due to the truck not running but they would be there on Friday early in the morning, they never showed. On Saturday we tried to schedule a time but were unsuccessful. She stated they would come Monday morning first thing, they never showed.Within a week no one showed although they made numerous threats to take legal action with a class 4 felony if we did not allow them to pick up by February 1st.On February 7th we woke up and realized buddy’s took a payment from our account in the amount of $721.I called to ask why a payment was taken when they should have been picking the product up and closing our account she informed me that it was an auto payment. I did not authorize an auto payment nor should I have had to make a payment after telling them to pick up the stuff and close the account. When I requested a refund she stated I had to return the furniture and she could not guarantee that we would get a refund. As of right now we still have the furniture due to paying for the furniture and not receiving a refund. I am requesting a refund for the payment and for them to come get the furniture. My rent is due and I need this money to avoid eviction. The lady was also very rude and unprofessional.

Yes, our automated system took a payment of $721.25 on 2/7/24 at 9:00 A.M. in the morning from the *******.  I have attached a copy of the recurring payment authorization that Mr. ****** signed when the agreements were first set up on 9/18/23.  I have also attached a copy of the payment history for each agreement.  Almost every payment that was obtained, was obtained via the system.  The payments that were obtained, were late to severely late.

I am rejecting this response because: I made MULTIPLE attempts with the company to pick up the furniture prior to this payment being taken out. They made it very clear that the furniture was not a priority for them and refused to come pick up for whatever reason. We had an agreement that was made via text message that furniture would be picked up because we were no longer able to afford doing business with them. Once the furniture was picked up the account would have been closed and we would have no longer been responsible for these payments. IF the company would have followed the agreement and done what the company is obligated to do, the payment would have never been taken. They had the time the day that the payment was taken to come get the furniture AFTER the payment was already taken. I made MULTIPLE attempts to settle with the company before reaching out to BBB. They took $721 but then wanted to pick the furniture up the same day. I also want to note that our payments have always been due on SATURDAYS and not Wednesday that was in the original agreement . They made ZERO attempt to withdraw the money on February 4th which was the Saturday before the payment was actually taken. My point is any contract that we had with them previous to them agreeing to pick up the furniture should be no longer good considering we made a new written agreement that both parties clearly agreed to at the time. I was told the furniture would be picked up Monday February 5th and they never picked up nor did I hear anything else from them until the payment was taken. We are completely willing to give them back all furniture as soon as a refund is processed.

******* actually was texting with the Sales Manager on her personal line and all hours of the day.  There was an issue with the box truck and it had to go to the mechanic shop.  The truck was there for almost a week.  The first time that we couldn't make it, I told her that the truck was in the shop and that I didn't know what was going on with it and did not know when it would be done for sure.  Yes, we did try to reschedule a couple of times, however our truck was still in the shop.  We couldn't even reschedule the pick up with them as they still refused to answer their phones when we called from the business line.  The payment that was taken on that Wednesday only took them to the following Saturday, and they were due again.  Not to mention, since this incident, we have picked up the merchandise and had to dispose of it as it was actually not in returnable condition and shouldn't have been picked up according to the rental agreement.  That didn't even happen until they were yet again past due.   The entire time they had the agreement, they refused to call the store as they said there schedules didn't allow for it.  However, after the transaction in question, they managed to find time in there busy day to call the store at least twice a day for almost a week.
