While I was in rehab after a heart attack, a representative of MIMIT HEALTH CARE came to my room and explained to me that a doppler exam was done on my legs and it was discovered that I had blockages in my arteries. She explained to me that the circumstances were dire and I needed four different procedures done immediately. I set up the appointment for a new doppler and had it performed within a week. Suddenly, no one would answer my telephone calls. Weeks went by with no response. I was under the impression that I was in great danger of a heart attack if one of the blockages was to move and travel to my heart via a leg artery. I consulted my cardiologist who requested a copy of the doppler records. MIMIT refused to send the records telling me the procedure had to be done at MIMIT only. This is when my doctor told me to demand the records. That's when they finally sent the records, although begrudgingly. To no one's surprise, two different cardiologists saw no reason to do any of the stated procedures. I was given a new doppler exam which showed no blockages at all. MIMIT will not *************. So, my doctor suggested I file this complaint. The emotional trauma I was made to contend with, the crying, the panic, were brutal. I feared for my life. And, of course, the anger I was feeling after being duped was off the charts. Consequently, I am filing this complaint due to emotional distress.
