    I got my storage November 2023 for $81.00 a month, then one day showed a debit on my account for an increased amount on my bank statement without any warning. I called and talked to the manager; he said the increase is due to the market value of storage that size. So now I received a notice that my new monthly charge will be $142.00 total including my insurance. This is so ridiculous and it's a **************

    An overpayment was sent to Public storage from ********** for ******* from my checking account. I didn't know of the transaction and then paid Public storage cash of ******* which I paid ****** from the ******* so I gave them cash .I have waited almost 3 months fir the refund. Ive spoken to ***** and also ****** from that location. All I'm told is that it would take a month it's well over a month.

    I have had this storage unit for many years and because of their price changes every 3 months almost I have been forced to move my items from one unit to another which is cheaper. I am physically considered disabled due to a a health issue and this has put much health issues on me. Recently without notification my rent went from ****** per month to ****** per month. Other units are renting of the same size for much less than even ****** as per their website. They are targeting me I feel this way they will not honor the price I rented for. There customer service outside of this location is terrible (corporate) . If I had a place to live I would never put my stuff at this location.

    BBB,

    Our District manager ******* spoke with ************************* regarding his rent increase.

    I was able to walk through his concerns with getting a rate increase with no email communication sent to him in regards to the increase. I let him know I could help him by taking his rent back to the $119/month that he had prior to the last increase.

    I also took the opportunity to explain to him how the rent increase process works, and let him know that he could potentially get another increase in 3-6 months, but I could help him for now.

    He said he understood, thanked me and said that would give him time to decide what he wants to do moving forward. I have submitted the manual rent adjustment to get his rent back to $119 starting May, 1, 2024.

    Effective May 1, 2024 to July 1, 2024, On August 1, 2024 your rent will increase back to the rent rate $138.00.

    Please **** this time on your calendar as a reminder.
