I contacted a company called Wheezy to arrange to have my vehicle salvaged for $420 by ***, but there was a great deal of miscommunication between the two companies that resulted in my car not being picked up for many weeks. ******* agreed to pay me $475 for my car after that because of all the trouble I'd been through getting ******* and *** to communicate and for how long it had taken to arrange it. I thanked ******* for that and for their customer service. When *** came to pick up the vehicle, I signed paperwork with the driver, gave them the keys and the title, and he loaded my vehicle onto his trailer. When he finished, he handed me a check and pulled out of my driveway with my car. I was walking into my house when I noticed that the check was for only $420, not the $475 ******* had quoted me. I ran back to the driver and asked him to explain. He made a call to someone, then told me I needed to call ******* about it. I went in to get my phone, and while I was in the house, he began putting the car back in my driveway. I told him I was on the phone with ******* like he said and that he needed to stop what he was doing. He left without the vehicle, then stopped at the end of my street and interupted my call to ******* to say that he wanted the check back. I told him I was still on the phone with ******* to try to straighten this out. He left. I still had the signed contract from the *** driver and the check for $420, and I had not given him permission to dump the car back in my driveway. I took that check to my credit union and cashed it. *** refused to honor that check. They cancelled it and refused to discuss that I had a contract that allowed me to cash that check and that required them to come pick up the car they had dumped back on my property. Their bad check also damaged my standing with my credit union. I went to their salvage yard with my contract and said I expected them to pick up the car at the agreed price. They refused, and so has the corp. office.
