On March 16 2023, the city called to say we were using too much water at my house and they suspected a leak. They had a plumber come out and look around and not find a leak. I even had a relative who does plumbing come out. When I called 811 to get my yard marked the city sent out 3 people to look for a leak. Saying we were still going through an excessive amount of water. No one could find a leak anywhere. But today, April 26 2023, I recieved my water bill and the amount due is over $2,000 for 2 months. Which is ten times the amount it normally rubs. The city will not credit any of it even though they found no leak.

I personally got a hold of the City of Edwardsville *********************** and talked to someone in the billing department. They informed us that since our January water bill was higher than usual and we did not complain that this water bill is all ours to pay off in full. They also stated that there was nothing they would do and somehow we used the amount of water they billed us for. Yet, when I pointed out that we had a ************** check out the plumbing for us there was no leak to be found. They also state that their plumbers did not check out our bathroom for leaks. Which is not true. The first day they arrived to look at the plumbing (the city hired ************;that is) *********************** himself let the plumber into the bathroom and no leaks were found. So since we could not go without water, or afford to pay the amount in full at the time we set up a payment plan. We both still believe this is not an accurate billing nor should it have been so ridiculously high. Especially since no plumber, from the city or our family member, could find any leak.

I have attached a copy of the payment plan they made for us.
