I have a signed contract proposal with this company that does not stipulate the verbal understanding of the scope of work, nor does it stipulate all the work that was to be done upon verbal agreement and this contractor refused to detail in the contract, the verbal understanding of the scope of work, additionally, there were critical errors during my project made by this company in the amount of materials estimated , blueprint errors, unforeseen obstacles, and restoration obligations Upon completion of the project the contractor/company, submitted an unforeseen astronomical final invoice declaring fees for the work performed to be add ons, that are in fact part of the original proposal and verbal agreement I requested to discuss and resolve these discrepancies, and the contractor declined to what I stipulated was acceptable as an additional fee and resolution and final amount!! There after on December 2, 2023 the contractor filed a lien on my home, for full payment of his final bill, with a 2% penalty accrued monthly, for additional charges that He did not declare to me for authorization and acceptance!!!

    Business Response

    Date: 03/24/2024

    In response to **************,
We completed his project in full at the end of October 2023.During this job there were blueprint errors discovered but ************** admitted that they were made by his architect who was also working on another project at his home. I was building a paver patio for ************** and the architect was planning for a construction project above the patio. My only involvement was that ************** requested I install post piers according to the markings he placed. This was additional work that ************** had originally not requested and was not part of the original agreement or estimate. We submitted an estimate to ************* based on his original request of work. He agreed to move forward and made an initial requested and agreed upon down payment. As the project progressed ************* made many changes and significant additions, which we made him verbally aware would increase his final cost. At no point did ************** stop me from completing the job or ask for a written detail. We did discuss those costs and he was in agreement. Upon completion of the original project and all or *************** additions he expressed great satisfaction on the quality of work to me and others. It wasnt until he received his final bill with the extra materials and labor costs that he voiced any complaints. ************** was fully aware of his responsibility for full payment at completion of the project. After months of not receiving the payment due and ************** stating he would not be making any payments for the balance we at that time moved forward with the lien as our only alternative.
