    I visited ************ on March 20, 2025 and purchased a communion dress for my daughter to be worn May 3rd along with accessories (one head crown, one head crown with veil, two pairs of white tights, purse and white patent leather shoes) and a keepsake card. The price of the dress before tax was $284 and the purse was approximately $24.95. I purchased the communion dress size 8 following the store associate ********* recommendation that minor alterations would be easy and simple to perfect the fit of the dress. On or about April 16th, I consulted a seamstress/technical fashion designer regarding the alterations and was told significant alterations were necessary to take in the waist and for the shoulders to rest properly. Essentially, back darts would not solve the problem alone and opening the seams would negatively impact the cap sleeve making it too small for my daughter to raise her arms. The representation of minor alterations at the store was not the case. I contacted the store the next day and initially was told by a different associate that due to their final sale policy nothing could be done regarding a return. They called back and an associate offered me two options the owner authorized, which I appreciated, specifically: 1. return for a refund or 2. see the owner's seamstress near their store for a second opinion. I told them I would call them back shortly with a decision. I called back the next day and advised an associate that seeing the seamstress was not viable given geographic distance and what we learned from the initial seamstress. I said I would ship the dress at my cost ($24) back in a day or two. The associate said they would call me upon receipt to get my credit card information to process the refund. Two days later they called with the dress and matching purse in hand to effectuate the refund. At this time, ***** told me that there would be a 25% restocking fee. I told her I was not advised of this policy at the time the refund was offered.
