    I signed a contract and paid a deposit on 5/21/22 to host an event on 8/19/22 at *********************** in ***********, **. The owner, *****************************, contacted me in July to state that he was going out of business and that I would be refunded my deposit of $275. I contacted the owner more than once and I still have not received my refund. He stated via phone and in an email that I would be refunded no later than 8/19/22. As of today I have not received a refund AND his business has not closed. He is now operating under a modified name and website, The Lantern Loft. He initiated this cancellation of my contract and I am rightfully due a refund. I have also contacted the ******** ************************ for assistance with obtaining my refund, but I am contacting the BBB to complain about the unfair practice of enforcing a contract, requiring a deposit, not adhering to the contract, and providing false information that the business was closing when it has not. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They have no right to keep my deposit when they could not uphold their contract.Attached: emails to show proof of contract, business closing, and refund promise. Also, a copy of the contract to show a deposit was made.

    ******* Balloon is and has always been a separate business than **************** and The Lamtern Loft per the ******** Secretary of State website and ownership.  This claim has been filed falsely against ******* Balloons, as ******* Balloons has never had a contract with the claimant, which the claimant has shown with her own copies of contracts. This claim needs to be directed at **************** and *****************************, not ******* Balloons and ***************************.

    I am rejecting this response because: I never named ******* Balloons in my original complaint.  I specifically stated that my complaint was with The Lantern Loft House in ***********, **, and for some reason this other subsidiary business was contacted  by BBB.  I don't understand how the wrong business was contacted.  I do not believe this was an error on my part.  I mentioned ********************************* name and provided his contact information in my original complaint.

    I am not sure what to say here except that this complaint is directed at 99 Haus Balloons, not **************** or ****************.  Please re-file the complaint against the appropriate business, as you have made the complaint against 99 Haus Balloons. Which to your own admission is not the company you have an issue with

    I booked an event for July 30, 2022 at the Lantern Loft (which is now ******* Balloons, which *************************** is the face of) and paid in full, $475, by March 2022. *****************************, business owner, emailed me July 3, 2022 to inform me he was closing his business and could not host my event. He expressed to me I'd receive my "deposit" back sometime in July 2022. That answer was not soon enough for me, being that I had to pay for a new venue with such short notice. I filed a claim with my bank, and they were able to reverse $300, but not the remaining $175. I informed ****************** via our email thread the remaining balance owed to me. It is now August 1st, and I have not gotten a response from him in weeks, and I have not received the rest of the money I paid.

    Better Business Bureau:

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and find that her response is satisfactory to me. The complaint was somehow switched to only include her business, which is affiliated with what once was the Lantern *****/Loft. However, there is no issue with *******************, but with her husband *****************************.
