1 starWARNING: ALL YOUNG COUPLES AVOID THIS JEWELER FOR ANY WEDDING/ENGAGEMENT RINGS. OWNER IS A ******* wife and I were both sized for rings and then purchased our wedding bands and engagement ring at Distinctive Gold Jewelry in ********* IL spending thousands of dollars doing so. After getting married and wearing my ring on a daily basis I noticed it was very loose and had even fallen off multiple times because I was incorrectly sized.I then brought my ring back a month after the wedding to explain this issue and get my ring resized. Unfortunately because my ring is made of tungsten, it couldnt be resized and had to be sent back to the manufacturer and exchanged for the correct size. They wanted me to pay $75 for shipping and the exchange fee. I explained to them that I was sized here and I shouldnt be responsible for paying that fee for a mistake they made. The lady helping me out had to get approval from one of the store owners (***) to approve the even exchange which we agreed would cost me $0. (Have the receipt/order form to prove it) *** helped complete the order and then assured me that they would contact me when the ring was ready to be picked up. They also kept my ring to send back to the manufacturer.Not even a day later *** calls me unexpectedly stating that he knew very little about our conversation. I tried explaining the situation only to be cut off by him multiple times on the phone telling me that they arent honoring our agreement for the even exchange of rings because he believed I had something change with my body. I tried explaining again to him that I was sized at his store and that my body weight hasnt changed. He continued to talk over me not allowing me to speak and eventually hung up on me with no resolution. I even tried calling him back and he wouldnt answer me. After spending thousands of dollars here something that shouldve been a happy experience turned into a horrific one. I would avoid Distinctive Gold Jewelry at all cost!

The original special order tungsten wedding band was made on July 7, 2023 and picked up with no issue on July 12, 2023. He returned 10 days later, July 22, 2023, requesting a different size and different tungsten ring which we accommodated at no charge. This second band was picked up August 8, 2023 with no issue. This latest request for a new ring size was made November 26, 2024, 1 year and 3 months after the second ring size change. There is a $75 fee from the manufacturer for sending the ring and having a new ring shipped back to us. Distinctive Gold was very accommodating with the first two rings, however, 1 year and 3 months goes way beyond our store policy of resizing at no charge.
