I signed a contract with *** on 2/21/2024 to build a stamped concrete deck at my house. The cost of the deck was $11,200 (I have proof of payment). I have chosen a design and color (from the booklet provided by the contractor) and was assured that it was going to be no problem to get it done. Work commenced during rainy and cold weather (by contractor choice), and that is when issues started: colors bleeding into each other, concrete not setting properly, etc. All in all, once built, our patio looked nothing like the prospect. The contractor acknowledged the final result was not as promised, disclosing they had actually never worked with colored stamped concrete. Attempts were made to correct it but made the patio look worse as the contractor just tried to cover up their mistakes instead of actually fixing them. We agreed on the contractor coming back in the spring of this year to make more corrections. When spring came, my husband called, and the contractor sent one of his employees to our house but instructed them to only power wash the deck. The owner of the business was supposed to come that day as well but never showed up. When contacted again by my husband, he acknowledged the patio looked bad and mentioned that it would cost a lot of money to fix it. He stopped answering calls afterwards. We trusted the contractor was indeed going to honor his commitment and fix our patio this spring, but it does not look like it is going to happen. We tried to be understanding and give them a chance to remedy the situation only to find out that they had no intention to do so because the job was so poorly done that the repairs will carry a very high cost and not guarantee a good result. I have pictures to document my claim but was unable to attach them to the form. I will be happy to email them upon request.
