    I saw **************** for the first time on 8/22/23. After I explained my symptoms, **************** transferredme to another room. As soon as I sat down, he handed me a tissue. Taken aback bythegesture, he indicated he was going to exam my sinuses using a camera. At no point did he use the term "nasal endoscopy." After the "physical exam", he ushered me to the reception to schedule my next appointment for "x-rays."I traveled to their ************ location for x-rays on 8/25/23. I was taken into the imaging room by a technician, who asked if I was pregnant before providing me an illustrative anatomy ****** and proceeding with the x-rays.**************** called me that afternoon to saythe images revealed nothing. He volunteered no additional information. Before he could hang up, I asked what I should do next. He suggested I see a neurologist for my "cluster headaches". At no point prior had the term cluster headaches or headache been used by me or him.I left that call confused by the referenced symptoms. Did he mix me up with another patient? I immediately called back and left a message for ****************. Troubled by my experience, I also left the first of many messages for the Practice Manager, ******. **************** returned my call on 8/28. ****** never returned any of my messages.I received my bill on 9/18. It included three charges: two for a new patient exam (expected) and a nasal endoscopy (unexpected) on 8/22 and one for a ** scan (unexpected) on 8/25. I immediately contacted billing who transferred me directly to *************I explained my experience and told ****** I felt like I'd been the victim of a bait and switch, used by the practice to charge for more expensive services without informed consent - an ethics violation. Even after agreeing to waive the ** scan fee on 9/19, ****** continued to argue that "ct scan" and "x-ray" were synonyms... Despite the implied admission of guilt (partial fee waiver), they refused to waive the full balance ($495.65 remaining).
