On, Saturday, 10/29, my car was taken in for an oil change. Later on, my car was not driving its usual way. My oil light was turning on (which it didn't go in with any lights on). Next morning, the car was driven for a short driver, until it stall on me in the middle of the road with smoke coming out. I had to get my car towed to Midas. Where they refused to look into my car at the time. At the end of our conversation, the employee there, later confess they failed to properly top the car with the correct amount of oil. My car was seen my a trustworthy mechanic and he said the engine is pretty much gone - due to the lack of oil in the engine. Franchise owner said he will do a full diagnostic on my car, but will not work on the car for free. I called to file another claim to their corporate and waiting on a response back.

I have attached an explanation of the situation written by the senior store manager ************************  I also spoke with *********************. ************** had prior issues before the oil change was performed.  His wife had complained of hearing noise under the hood and as you can see from our recommendation on the invoice we had suggested to degrease and dye the oil to determine where the leak was coming from.  When the vehicle was brought back into the shop it had no oil light on,but did have service engine light on.  If the vehicle had an oil light on it would tell us there was a lack of oil pressure.  We did find that it was short about one quart of oil.  This would have been entirely possible considering the way oil was leaking out of the exhaust connections.  I offered to diagnose what was going on by removing the timing cover due to the noise underneath, possibly the valve cove or even the oil pan.  One of these inspections would have told us what was going with the noise in the engine. I told it him whatever it was causing the issue I would not repair for free, but help out with favorable pricing He initially agreed to do this and said he would drop off the keys in about an hour.  Hours passed and no keys.  He eventually called me later in the afternoon that he had decided to have it towed away.

I am still willing to help him, but without knowing what has failed I can't.
