The nature of my dispute is as of 5/28/2025 my vehicle was repossessed at 5:00am in my driveway. I had paid a total of $7,525 of my car payments since 11/9/2023 to Metropolitan Auto Lending. I just recently made a payment on 5/5/2025, I was not notified and aware of their auto business being closed down for unknown reasons. The owner stated to me that I owe $1,697.98 in past payments and $650 for repossessing charges to retrieve my vehicle but he hasn't sent me any proof regarding my account. He also stated that I have 21 days to pay that amount but I feel that since I have did business with him I had been lied to and taken advantage of and been cheated of my money.

I financed a vehicle from *****************. Metropolitan Auto Lending offered me an approval for the vehicle. About a year later the vehicle was involved in an accident. The vehicle was totaled out and my insurance company paid metropolitan directly the amount they determined the vehicle was worth. I had gap insurance to cover the remaining balance and needed to file a claim in a certain amount of days. Metropolitan was unresponsive in providing me the necessary documents I needed from them to complete the claim, so the claim was closed. Metropolitan is still are accumulating monthly late fees on top of the original bill I was trying to get settled, which is hurting my credit badly. They won't answer any of my calls nor can I leave a voicemail. It's been almost 3 years, I do not know what else to do.
