  My parents hired this company to re stain parts of their house and fill in holes in the wood. *** the owner would only give a verbal estimate with a piece of paper that had scribbling a of the detail on it. Everyday he was there the price kept going up more and more but would never give a written estimate. First off it's a black house and my father specifically request black wood filler or caulk to fill the holes and even offered to purchase the caul and he himself purchased the black stain. *** told my dad that had caulk that would work well and came out on a Saturday 2 hours later than when he said he'd be there and proceeded to use bright ******************* all around the house. When my dad got upset at this he told my dad don't worry the stain will cover it really well he'll make sure of this. The day he finished the caulking he wanted a check from my parents as a separate part of the job that day but insisted the check be made out to him and not the company. It was odd but my parents did it. The first day they came out to stain they were again two hours late from when they said they would be there and worked on one exterior wall of the house for a three hour period and then decided they were done for the day. When they rang the bell to let us know he was again expecting a check for the days work. I informed him my parents weren't home at the time but that my dad didn't plan on paying until it was completed. On the only wall they completed the stain did not cover the white caulk that well at all and you could see the outlines through the stain. We did not hear from them the next day. They called two days later and said they would arrive around 1 and didn't show up until 3. At that point my dad had had enough and fired them. He even tried to to include in his estimate and charge a part of the house that was already done by my dad and nephew. He will not give you a proper written estimate and expects to paid daily instead of at the completion of the job.
