TLC Animal Shelter neglects their animals !When going to adopt a dog my boyfriend and I went to TLC and they have to be the worst shelter I have ever seen. We adopted ****** a 2 year old German shepherd, who was advertised as good with dogs and healthy. Upon meeting him he had just been neutered in less than a few dags , which had been infected , but we were told he was given to the shelter that way and it would go down soon. Then we had a short introduction with ****** and our dogs , which they didnt interact at all. After that we were sent home with ****** and in less than 20 minutes of having him I found fleas and ticks all over him when I was petting him. I called the shelter and they claimed to have no idea , then we took him to an emergency vet to get looked at where we found out he had 2 different Lyme diseases that were untreated and his neutering was so infected he could possibly need surgery to fix it. So after being charged $500 for a healthy dog , we were immediately charged another $250 at the vet. Then we go home to realize he is very aggressive towards other dogs , specifically the other dogs already living in the house. We went back to the shelter to explain ******* condition and request we get a refund for the adoption fee and flea and tick medicine for our dogs considering we will have to do multiple follow up vet appointments to get ****** healthy and get him trained to not be aggressive. But before we could flag anyones attention we noticed how poor the quality of the shelter was. The inside of the shelter was so chaotic , they didnt have enough spaces for the animal load they were bringing in , they had no idea which animal was which , and the animals were lacking basic attention to their needs. Once finally talking to the owner she claimed to have had no idea about anything with ****** , meaning they didnt physically check him once because he was completely covered in fleas and ticks , it was impossible to miss if you looked.
