I reached out to this company to get folders printed for a non profit organization I represent. The owner started by ************* the incorrect cost for service. I gave him a deposit, then he came back and told me that he gave me the wrong price. I still moved forward and agreed for him to complete the service. The owner proceeded to give me the run around, did not complete the job and has not refunded my money nor responded to several requests for a refund. I wrote a review via ****** and all the owner did was lie. The owners name is ******* ****** and base on his other ****** reviews, he has done this to other people. This was a terrible experience and I would have been happy with a refund, however he stole the deposit and didnt complete the service. He even threatened me with legal action for calling his phone several times for what he said was harassment, which is false, I just wanted the money back that he stole from an organization that serves children and families of the Chicago community.Business Response

This customer had received the response sometime ago in regards to this order. I had indicated the price that he had received was very old pricing and I had explained that the current price was different. And for some reason he had excepted that at that time. Now I'm getting this review on this matter. Al this customer have to do is pay the correct price and his order will be filled. This information was sent to the person that is the head of this program and at that point this matter was let let a while back. Now all of a sudden out of nowhere this individual double back is regards to this matter. If the head of the trinity church on 95th In ******* can call me again in regards to this matter which was settled months back. that would be great. Also there was graphics work done as well. I would love to submit my work that I had done.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:the owner is not telling the truth. He misquoted me and we agreed to move forward with the new quote he provided, even though it was a higher price. We had a conversation with my executive director and agreed on the services being completed on a particular day and if the services werent competed, he would refund our deposit, which has yet to happen. Also, we gave him a deposit for printing only, we provided our own design so there was no actual work done on this project by him, as we never received a print proof and obviously not the product. The owner never provided us with the folders and the deposit STILL HAS NOT BEEN REFUNDED TO THE ORGANIZATION. Regardless of how much time has passed, we have not received what we paid for nor a refund. The owner contacted me today threatening legal action. How can you take legal action when YOU stole from an organization that serves children? If he can provide proof of work rendered or proof or a refund being issued, then I will accept. Otherwise, there is not resolution. Notice that he never stated that the job was completed nor that funds were refunded. Again, he never provided a proof or any product, we only hired him for PRINTING, which never happened and we never received a refund. HE NEVER PAID IT OR PROVIDED SERVICE. All he provided was threats and false claims of harassment. If we received our materials or a refund, what reason would we have to contact them? The owner is a lying, cheating thief that is talking in circles blaming this on us, he has yet to fulfill anything on his end. This is ridiculous! No mention was made of the job being completed or refunded. I repeat, no job, no refund, not product, no services, nothing was completed and he still has the deposit. Please have the owner explain why he never gave us our deposit back? If its a simple miscommunication, give us our money back.
Sincerely,
****** *******Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I have not received a refund and he never completed the job. Again, he is threatening legal action, when he did not fulfill his end of the agreement. I DO NOT want the product, I just want the refund. He is a thief and a liar and as you can see, he has not mentioned completion of service nor return of funds from ANY of his responses. I think it is quite clear that this is a case of thievery.

On Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2024, I phoned Ink Spots Printing at ************ and was connected with the owner(?). I discussed a print layout for my grandmother's obituary for her service on Monday morning, April 29, 2024. He requested that I email the file to ********************************************* at a cost $65; he said it would be done by noon on Sunday, April 28th. I was to Zelle him at the same email address. He confirmed receipt of my document. Later that evening he called me and said most of the work was already done by me and would only cost $45. And he suggested I use Office *** to print my obituary. He specifically recommended the one on 135th & Harlem because he and his wife use that one. I zelle'd the $45 to the email late that night. When I checked my email that morning at about 11 am, I had an email from him saying he didn't get the money. I called him immediately and he told me I was to use his cell number to send the money. I did that right away, he confirmed receipt by phone. At which time he told me he was on his way home from ******** about 2 and a half hours out. I commented that it would not be ready by noon. He said it would not take long to complete the work, less than 30 min. I expressed that I had other appointments that day and needed the obituary to be done. After 2 pm, I began phoning and/or emailing him. He did not answer my calls/emails. I began to suspect he would not do this job in time; avoiding my calls. I began working on the print layout myself; I had to get to an Office *** with something to print. Before I left the house at 4 pm, I sent one last email with my cell # asking him to call because I was leaving the house. At 4:45, I was at Office *** getting my version of the obituary printed; I had not heard from *******. Office *** closes at 6 pm. I got home late that evening, noticed an email from him @ 4:35. It was too late, I did not open his email. I requested a refund Tuesday morning. He refused and was threatening.Business Response

This customer contacted me on a saturday when I was in ******** visiting family. She sent me the graphics so when I got back sunday night I opened up the file monday morning set the file up and sent it to her. She never responded by email or phone. but at that point she had already paid me $45 so at some point she contacted me and made a statement and said she received my email and phone call. And she also stated that sending it on monday was to late. My statement to her was she just sent me the file on saturday and by me being out of town I did the job for her on monday morning. So at that point there was nothing I could do with the work being already performed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I did not realize that the response timeframe was so short, especially since Ink Spots had over a month to reply.
Regarding his response, it is inaccurate. When I spoke with him on Saturday, he told me he would be back in town in time to get me project done by noon on Sunday. When I spoke with him on Sunday morning he was on his way back from ******** (he would not be back before noon), however because the layout was simple it could be done quickly and that he would have it ready by 3:30 because I needed time to get to a print store before they closed at 6:00pm.
He never returned any of my calls or emails from 2 o'clock until left my house to take what I was able to do with formatting a layout to a printshop at 4 o'clock. His failure to respond and get me the project in a timely manner indicated to me that I was being ghosted and I would not have my grandmother obituary professional done.
The agreement was for Sunday afternoon, not Monday. I have an email from him with the layout attached sent when it was too late because I was not near a computer to retrieve it and I had returned home at 7pm from the print shop.
The project was for a print layout for my grandmother obituary, funeral was Monday morning. How would I be able to get the layout from him, take it to a print shop, and all be done on Monday morning when the service was Monday morning. If he was out of town and not able to return in time to get the project done in time, he should have not accepted the job or my payment. He should refund my money.
Sincerely,

Response. I received a request to put her file together which I did put it in it's proper order and sent the file back to her monday morning. Then I proceeded to call her on a number of occassion and she would not answer the phone. Then when I got to speak with her she said she new I was calling her and began to make up excuses of why she would not answer the phone. But the order from her was put in saturday afternoon by her so I could not get to her order together right away so once I came back into town sunday evening I proceed to put her order together and sent it to her monday mourning. She also asked me for a refund and I told her no. and she proceed to make this complaint to you BBB which I do not understand why when I had done the work. And I can send the file to you so you can see it as well. ThanksInk Spots Printing & Media DesignInitial Complaint

******************************** I Created this customer graphic for the vehicle and also made necessary change of logo that he wanted. After that work was done customer asked me for the deposit back which I told him no. Then shortly after this complaint was made. I do this all the time putting graphic to customer vehicles. Which this was no different. So the customer has the option of continuing with the job or canceling but initial deposit is non refundable.
