Our father (****** ******) passed away on July 8· 2022.
Our Mother's stone came from Manley Monuments, so that is why we chose them for our Dad's stone. We went to Manley Monuments on 2-18-23 and met with **** ****** to order his grave stone._ We picked a simple flat stepping type stone to be placed on where his ashes are buried. We picked and chose a stone and was to have the typical name, birth date, death date, wording "husband and father'' and a cross/bible engraved picture on the bottom left corner.
**** told us that this would be straight forward and the stone we chose was the easiest to get. He presented us a bill and he said it would probably be early August timeframe. He told us that this was a very simple order and there were a thousand ways to get this one done.
We paid the bill early because of our Dad's assets were to be transferred to our Step Mother, who agreed to pay for the stone! Bill was paid in full on 2-21-23 (the next week) by our Step Mother.
We didn't hear anything else from them until I called and inquiring about it. **** was VERY adamant in telling me that he told us it would be August!!!
We FINALLY received the "DRAFT" drawing of the stone (from the information submitted/chosen during our 2-18-23 visit) on 7-26-23, just a few days after my phone call. It seemed kinda ironic that we had not even received a "draft" of the stone until that time period (until after I called to inquire). We approved the "draft" that day and sent an email back saying we approved. Now that this was approved, we assumed this would be installed in the month of August as he told us in the beginning.
On 9-14-23, I called to check the status again, as no communication had been made. **** stated that today was our "Lucky Day". They were cutting the stone that day and it should be installed in the next 2 weeks. Now this is the end of September instead of August!!
On 10-6-23, I called again, as no communication AGAIN had been made to us, he said it hadn't been installed yet. On 10-13-23, I called again - no status.
    On 10-24-23, I called - no answer.
On 10-25-23, I called twice, finally got a response the 2nd time. **** blamed his boss for not answering texts & phone calls very well to get status of the stone.
As of TODAY-11-10-23 -still no communication back. My siblings and I (5 children) have been waiting to meet at our Father's grave for a memorial with his stone in place.
If this had been a more elaborate stone, lots of engraving, etc., the timeframe would have made a little more sense, but this is just absurd and wrong!! This is a difficult time anyway, but to have to deal with this is above & beyond everything!
We started this process in Feb with hopes to gather to meet in warmer weather in the summer, early fall due to all of us living away from the cemetery between 45 minutes & 2 hours. Now we will have to wait for warmer weather next Spring. Hope we have the stone by then.
