This is a terrible company. I spend hours and multiple days dealing with multiple **** trying to get a bid for a job. I won't bore you with all the details, but the gist is the people doing the bids are not on the same page with the company itself, and it's like pulling teeth trying to get answers. When I finally was able to clarify why I was being bid hundreds of dollars to change out a rubber gasket ($.86 at **********) there was only denying of overcharging and not accountability. The other projects they bid on also seemed super high, but I had nothing to compare them to. I ended up getting two more bids from other reputable companies, and paid less than 1/4th of what ******* tried to charge me (I use Biagi Plumbing). Companies like this one are becoming way too common where the customer service has dropped off the face of the earth, they have jacked up bids/charges to insane amounts, and unfortunately because many people don't take the time to look into it, companies like this get away with it and could care less if they lose one customer like myself not willing to be ripped ****** NOTE USE THIS COMPANYRavinia, Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric

Didn't do the requested service on plumbing equipment, but provided a $5,000+ quote for replacing the unit. Another service provider repaired the unit for $500.Ravinia, Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric

The customer asked us to perform preventative maintenance on their battery back-up pump system. We quoted a cost for that service before we started work and the customer accepted our maintenance quote. We checked the system and found the primary pump was working properly, the battery for the back-up pump system was properly charged and the system was pumping but it took longer to evacuate the pump basin than normal. We verified that the total head pressure on the back-up pump which includes vertical lift along with the number of fittings installed onto the discharge piping that the total developed head is approximately 13'. We contacted the manufacturer of the back-up pump and they stated that their pump is only designed to pump at a maximum of 10' of head or the total pumping capacity will be reduced. This explains why the back-up pump was pumping at 34 gallons per minute versus 45 gallons per minute for the primary pump. We explained, in writing, that the everything is working properly but the back-up pump system is operating at a lower capacity than the primary pump. We provided an option to replace the under-sized back-up pump with a properly sized unit. Unfortunately pump systems designed to pump at a higher head pressure are more expensive. I'm not sure why the customer would call another company out to "fix" something when we found nothing wrong, and how do fix the height of the basement, thereby shortening the height that the back-up pump has to pump out the ******** is also worth noting that after all that work that we performed, the customer reversed the charge and decided after the fact to pay us nothing. The reality is we did what we said we would do (perform preventative maintenance on the back-up pump), charged him what we quoted up front, we provided the customer with valuable information on his existing system (that we did not originally install) and provided an option to increase the pumping capacity of the back-up pump if he desires and for this we receive a negative review and no payment for our services. Where to I go to complain about ********* customers?Review fromDawn F

On 12/18/2023 Ravinia rodded my sewer line due to an apparent back-up from the ********* sanitary sewer line. $1,200.00 later, with camera inspection, Ravinia's investigation determined that the 6" **** sanitary sewer line was broken at the top of the pipe. They provided me with a quote of $5,895.68, which I E-signed on 12/21/2023 and provided the amount of $2,950.00. Ravinia said they would replace broken section of sewer piping with SDR26 of equal size to include replacement of approximately 6 feet of sewer pipe within the excavation and that connections would be made with stainless steel banded non-shear couplings and install a full-size sewer clean-out riser. On 1/25/2024, Ravinia began the dig and only had to excavate 2 feet, as an inspection manhole clean-out was found. They raised the rings to get lid to grade with 2-1 foot cement risers and sealed risers with hydro/mastic. Backed filled and video inspected the line again from 12/18/2023. NOTE: The scope of the job changed drastically when the inspection manhole was revealed. 4 weeks later, I called Ravinia as I hadn't heard from anyone since the completion of the job and thought that I would receive a reimbursement due to the extensive job in the original quote was not performed. I requested an itemized breakdown of pricing as the remaining balance was another $966.23 for this new job. I wanted to know what I was paying for. They refused to provide me with this information and said that my invoice was now 60 days past due. Bottom line is Ravinia misdiagnosed my job and therefore misquoted the job. In addition, they damaged my B-box while performing the project and later said they repaired it. I requested an inspection from the City and Ravinia's repair did not pass inspection. Due to Ravinia's negligence and incompetency, I brought in another plumbing contractor to properly replace B-box to meet City code requirements. I am highly disappointed with the outcome of project and damage incurred by Ravinia.Ravinia, Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric

We apologize for the experience you had with Ravinia Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric. We have reviewed your contract and found the following documentation:
You were initially quoted $5,895.68, to repair a portion of the sewer line and install an outside cleanout. However, when our dig crew started excavating, they found a buried manhole 2ft below the ground. The discovery changed the scope of the work, and it resulted in cost savings to you in the amount of $1,979.45, bringing the final cost of the project from $5,895.68 to $3,916.23. By finding the manhole, a cleanout was no longer needed, nor was repairing the sewer line; concrete rings and manhole lid were installed, and rodding of the line was done. When the scope of work changed, the total project's pricing reflected these tasks and reduction in the final project cost.
Once the customer informed *********************************************, **********************, ********************** & ******************** about possible damage to the top of the **box, Ravinia Plumbing,Sewer, Heating & Electric took immediate action to make the situation right and take ownership.
The revised work Ravinia Plumbing, Sewer, Heating &Electric completed was installed to ******** plumbing code and is functioning as it should since completion of work on 1/25/2024.Review fromHelen S

We hired Ravinia to fix a problem we had with water draining from our basement. They said it was a broken pipe, and quoted us $3200. After they began the work they said that the pipes were in bad condition, and there was no place to connect. {I should point out that our house is more than 100 years old, which they knew as it was the house they used in their T.V. commercial for many years, and maybe still are}. Was it such a suprise that an old house would have these kind of problems? So they added$7400 more, and assured us this would be "worst case scenario." They said it may even be less. But when they opened up the floor even more they had do hire another company that was $8000 more. {This all seems like a classic "bait and switch" as with the basement now a disaster it was too late to get another quote. And that was also true when they said "worst case scenario" about the second quote. So finally for close to $20000 it was seemingly over. Except when I was cleaning up the incredible amount of dust they left, I decided to pour a little water to make sure the problem was actually fixed. And sure enuff the drain is too high and the water doesn't even drain. What a freakin joke. And of course I can't even get a call back. I'm thinking I may have to go to small claims court. They are a pathetic company and it amazes me that they're still in business.*************************Ravinia, Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric

Recapping the conversation between the Plumbing Director and customer, a sight visit has been arranged on 10/26/23 that will also include our Sewer Project Manager to gain a better perspective of the customer's concerns. After this site visit, Ravinia will work with the customer on next steps; if any are needed that pertain to the work Ravinia was contracted to perform.Ravinia, Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric

Ravinia's Plumbing Director and Sewer field supervisor went to the customer's home on 10/26/23 to see the customer's concerns regarding their project in person. After reviewing the work performed, it was determined that the concrete and drain needed to be leveled. Ravinia returned on 11/3/2023 to correct the work and confirmed that the customer was satisfied (The customer had signed off on the invoice indicating no issues with our work). The customer was contacted three times via phone, text message, and email, confirming the work was up to their standards, with no follow-up from the customer. We have concluded that the project was completed satisfactorily and is in working condition.11/8/23 9:28 am Left VM 11/9/23 9:38 am Left VM 11/1023 11:10 am Left VM- 11:14 am sent text message & 11:15 sent email- that was opened.Review fromVit L

They did work more than one year ago. I was relying on them like a trusted company. But they didn't finish the full scale of their job. I didn't even know about it until another contractor told me! After I called them back they said that this second part of the job wasn't necessary!!! In their opinion a more profitable 10 minutes job can be performed, but the rest, which didn't bring money (but should be done) and take more time can be skipped!!!Ravinia, Plumbing, Sewer, Heating & Electric

We have spoken with the customer and unfortunately he refuses to listen to reason or apply logic. The problem was caused by some other contractor providing the customer with bad information. Here are the facts.1.On 3/1/2021 the customer called because the pump in his ejector basin had failed. Our technician found the basin lid was not sealed and contained a standard sump pump. He also determined that the basin only receives water from a nearby floor drain which accepts clean water from the **** condensate.2.Our technician noted on the invoice at the time of service that the customer did not need an ejector pump and if the customer ever installs a bathroom into the basement emptying into the ejector basin, the pump will need to be changed to an ejector pump.3.While we could have sold the customer a much more expensive ejector pump and sold the customer to re-seal the pump basin, we did not because it is not needed in this application.4.The customer hired some other contactor who incorrectly told him that the ejector basin should be sealed.5.The customer called us stating that we did not perform our work properly and there was an odor from the ejector basin. We dispatched a technician to investigate. Our technician found no odor from the ejector basin or the sump basin. We also verified that the installation is correct and explained this to the ************** customer next stated that the ejector basin should be sealed because of radon gas. This is also incorrect as the ejector basin is not open to the earth, it is only open to the floor drain. Radon cannot enter the basement through an ejector basin, sealed or not. ***** enters a basement through the sump pump which accepts ground water as it is open to the earth. If the customer is concerned with radon, the sump pump basin needs to be sealed, the ejector basin does not need to be sealed.7.We offered to return and seal the basin at the same cost as if the work was performed on the initial service call nearly two years earlier as the customer was NEVER charged to perform that work. The customer declined and wants us to perform work for free.8.We asked the customer to have his other contractor call us so we can explain why they are wrong before they hand out incorrect information to any more people.9.We did NOT charge the customer for our visit to verify our work was correct or to investigate his claim that an odor was coming from the ejector basin.10.Instead of being thanked for saving the customer money, we get dragged through the mud with a bad review for doing the right thing.
