I purchased a synthetic oil change at Grease Monkey located on ********************************************************************* for my 2015 ********** Beetle on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. After the oil change, I noticed a puddle of oil from my vehicle on my garage floor. I was uncertain if this was a persistent issue so I waited a few more days to monitor the leak. Since the issue continued, I called the store manager, *********************************, on Thursday, September 15, 2022 to alert him about the situation. ******************** asked me to bring the vehicle in. I indicated that I live approximately 45 miles from Lisle, IL and would be in the area the following week on Thursday, September ********************************************************************* at that time for inspection. Unfortunately, on Sunday, September 18, 2022 my low oil level light came on prompting me to drive immediately to the nearest auto shop for fear of damaging my engine. I did not have enough oil to drive an hour away to Grease Monkey for them to check the vehicle; therefore, I went to *** Boys in a nearby town. The technicians inspected my vehicle and determined that the oil pan had been damaged from the recent oil change at Grease Monkey. A temporary drain plug was inserted (instead of placing the original drain plug on the vehicle) and the treads around the gasket of the oil pan had been stripped which caused the continuous oil leak. *** Boys had to replace the oil pan and give me another oil change which cost $837.62 for parts, service, and labor.
