**** Dehne, operating under the name "**** Dehne Handyman," is a single-person operation. Initially engaged with the promise of a straight forward hourly rate from 9 AM to 5 PM, his employment extended over three weeks as he endeavored to replace a hot water heater and install a kitchen faucet and a shower valve.Regrettably, Dehne's attendance was unpredictable. He regularly arrived late, as late as 11 AM or even 4 PM. During his tenure, he consistently expressed dissatisfaction with his landlord and indicated that he was relocating to an undisclosed residence. His work ethic mirrored this inconsistency; he failed to complete any task on the first attempt, often requiring two or more tries before ultimately conceding defeat. After enduring weeks of frustration and incurring three times the expected expenses, we decided to hire a licensed pipe fitter, who successfully completed the entire work within just two days.Dehnes lackadaisical approach suggested he spent his mornings watching repair tutorials on ******** then returned to our property in the afternoons to apply what he had learned, typically with limited success. Unfortunately, his efforts resulted in additional damage necessitating remediation upon his departure. The incidents included:1.Unconventional Recommendations: Dehne proposed solutions regarding the hot water heater flue that were neither practical nor technically sound.2.Clogged Drains and Equipment Damage: On two occasions, he clogged our floor drain and broke our vacuum cleaner while improperly attempting to repurpose it as a shop vacuum.3.Damaged Historic Wall Tiles: In a misguided effort to facilitate the plumbing through the wall, he jack hammered a bathroom wall from behind, irreparably damaging century-old ceramic tiles instead of carefully chipping away around the shower outlet.4.Payment Discrepancies: Dehne exhibited unprofessional conduct regarding payment, insisting on cash transactions to be made at the end of each workday.
