I have been working with attorney ****** ******* since Sept 2024. I received a settlement in Jan2026 which i accepted and was told the defendant had 21 business days to pay....the defaulted! I was told by my attorney that the defendant " backed out and ghosted them". As you can see by email ****** was gonna give the defendant another week to receive payment or he would refile for default. My attorney never received the payment so he refile or so I was told a month ago as you can see by email and I would receive 3x the amount bc of the default. Yesterday I was contacted by the **************** saying they received a check but it was for the original settlement. I was told by my attorney 2wks ago that he was in discussions with the defendants attorneys about the settlement. Now all of the sudden a check shows up and I was told the default was due to " lost mail by ***" 4 months ago? 1st *** doesn't deliver mail, 2nd why 2 weeks ago wasn't i told about lost mail? What happened was the 2 attorneys talk and a check was sent 1.6 months after the due date set by law. ****** ******* lied about refiling and lied about receiving 3x the amount. He then tells me in his last email that his company was paid and he's didn't wish to refile and he's moving on! I want others to know that these shady lawyers settled an harassment case for $4950 sent me a check 4 month late for $500 and walked away I feel lied to and when I asked for a call back. ****** ******* vacationing in ******.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/12/2025

Mr. ****** agreed to the settlement. The entity we prosecuted on his behalf did not make timely payment. When it failed to make timely payment we aggressively pursued them, expending far more work. Ultimately, as a result of our efforts, they elected to make payment. Mr. ****** was given the opportunity not to accept the settlement and handle the matter as he saw fit. He elected to cash the check and accept the settlement. We have supporting documentation. At all times we maintained communication with Mr. ****** and worked at his direction and approval.

I am rejecting this response because: This issued was not resolved like the Attorney said. If you look at the emails I sent in you will see the attorney is lying! I agreed to a deal a sign paperwork  for $500 and the defendant defaulted and backed out and refused to pay. In the emails you can see further communication between my representation and I was that he was refiling on my behalf bc the defendant defaulted and at that time I was told I'd receive 3x the $500. My reply was " make the wait worth my while" bc the case was going on 7 months. I was told they were refiling and it could take another 3 months and that's all I heard. That was the last of the communication for about over a month. I called in and was told my check arrived for $500. I told the paralegal that wasn't the agreement and I was told my attorney was in ****** on vacation and would contact me when he got back. I received an email after I asked for a call twice and he said he was in meetings for 2 straight days saying....." the defendant paid and we no longer wish to pursue this matter any longer....Best of luck". Soil was lied to and on top of that never received the compensation I was told i would get but the scumbag attorney took $4900 of the original settlement. They made sure they got paid and parted ways

    Sincerely,

    **** ******

We are sorry that Ms. ********* is unhappy with our representation. However, our firm disputes her representations that, This firm charged 90% which I've never seen except in criminal cases.  Ms. ********* has not been charged nor paid anything in connection with our services. Rather, we have always been under a contingency agreement, which Ms. ********* reviewed and signed on February 27, 2024. Per that engagement agreement, if there was a recovery, it would be completely paid for by the entity we were going after on her behalf. We have made numerous requests to speak with Ms. ********* over the phone to address and resolve her issue, including on January 23, 2025. She has refused to do so. We continue to remain ready and willing to discuss any perceived issues Ms. ********* has, should she choose to speak to us.

Class Action lawsuit was filed and I was not given the settlement money they claimed I had a balance of 1252 dollars which is a lie because I received the title to the car before this was settled and there was no balance owed so either Atlas Consumer Law is lying or Credit Acceptance is either way I want my 1252 for my pain and suffering.

Im writing to complain about ******************************* and ***************************. From the beginning your attorneys acted as if they despised speaking to me and didnt care about my case. I spoke to ****** yesterday, 9/28 at 12:**** regarding a conversation I had with **** about a demand letter for an employment case they were working on. After speaking with **** about the number, I had some questions and concerns and decided to speak to ****** regarding filing under title ****. Please keep in mind, the document I submitted with incidents of my employment case specified Id like to *** under this title since it has no cap. ****** then explained the reasoning behind the number but shortly after this explanation, I mentioned to him my reasoning for wanting a higher amount. I also mentioned it is important to me for us to be on the same page, since we were working together. ****** proceeded to take a dark turn in his communication and indicated the following lies and unprofessional statements before deciding to end our client/attorney relationship. - He mentioned ******** stated to him I looked up the firms BBB complaints. This is true, and mentioned to ****** I do my due diligence on everyone I work with as not all firms are reputable. The claims made on BBB came up in a ****** search for your firm I did not go directly to their website to look for it, its public information anyone will find when they input your name. - He lied and said youve looked all of us up! This is a blatant lie and salacious. To make me out to be a stalker is dangerous language I will be reporting to the bar! No one looked anyone up except on your website which ***** directed me to before being onboarded. - He mentioned if youre expecting me to have passion for your case, I wont! Ill fight very hard for your case but I dont have the same feelings .- He mentioned I was complaining about **** again. Another lie, I merely relayed our conversation last week and asked him about other options for the settlement amount for my case. I have no is*** with **** at all! If ******** is lying about me being a stalker Im asking you to tell her to stop! Im also asking you to make sure the lies spewing from ******* mouth get reeled in fast! ****** has been rude, arrogant, and disrespectful each time Ive spoke to him. This conversation was the final straw. Im a previous client on the consumer side and never had an is*** with your firm until now.

There has been a significant breakdown of communication between the client and the firm.  The firm has withdrawn their representation and the client is free to choose an attorney of her choosing to represent her in the matter.

I am rejecting this response because:

This was not a firm issue, this was a direct character assault from ****** their director which the owner of the firm failed to address. ****** is both a pathological liar and an arrogant unempathetic unprofessional!

I have reported Atlas to the state of ** for negligence. He only fired me after asking questions regarding my case, and the fact I brought their existing reviews on the BBB platform to their attention. Anyone can see these reviews . They shouldnt deal with people of color or the public if they intend to lie and defame their clients! There are violations here that will be brought public!

***************************** was extremely condescending and rude on the phone multiple times and talked over me when I was trying to thoroughly review the contract and talked over me when I was trying to express concerns and ask questions. First, I was asking him something about the retainer and he seemed unclear about what I was reading, stated "I don't know where you're seeing that," and I said "Oh I'm reading the paper you sent" and he says rudely and condescendingly "Uhh well it's like three pages of detailed stuff," -- it's actually 1.5 pages and the third page is a form. I also wanted to ensure that I wouldn't pay fees that exceeded the recovery amount. ******** told me that I wouldn't need to worry, as the defendant would be paying all the attorneys fees. This prompted me to ask a question about some language in the contract which read: "you also may be *********** have the other side pay your legal fees and costs if your case is successful." I asked him, how come it says "may be entitled" instead of "are entitled." He said, "some people don't have strong cases." I said, "But if the case is successful then it's strong; shouldn't this read as 'you ARE *********** have the other side pay your costs if successful'? And he said, "Actually yes, it should say that." I asked if they would be able to modify the contract to reflect that change in verbiage and he said the contract was non-negotiable. He said they are a great company and that I can look up their reviews. I told him I they didn't have good reviews on BBB, and he VERY RUDELY talked over me and stated "Well you're just looking at a website that anyone can review and post anything on!" I told him I don't appreciate that he is cutting me off and being so condescending and he replied "Well you are talking over me and never let me get a word in so." WOW. unprofessional.Interestingly -- there is also a clause in their contract prohibiting people from writing bad reviews. Sketch.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns. From the outset, our Firm has been committed to resolving your case in a manner that aligns with your best interests.
To clarify, we fully honored the terms of the settlement and provided you with everything you sought. You were informed of the settlement details, approved them, and even confirmed your willingness to sign the agreement. However, after that confirmation, you ceased communication and did not respond to our multiple attempts to discuss and finalize the resolution. Despite numerous outreach efforts on our end, all attempts were ignored.
Regarding the tax documentation, it is standard practice in settlement agreements where applicable, and this was communicated to you during the process. Our goal has always been transparency and compliance with legal and tax requirements. Our Firm issued a reminder that we are not tax professionals and that any questions regarding tax implications should be discussed with a licensed tax professional.
If you would like to further discuss this matter and reach a final resolution, we remain open to communication and encourage you to reach out at your earliest convenience. Thank you.
