On 8/23/23, I began having issues with my van. After assessing the car, I was provided with an estimate to rebuild my transmission for $3,457.82. I got it back on 8/31/23. I immediately noticed it wasnt shifting properly, but I drove it for a couple of days to be sure. After 2 days, it still wasnt shifting properly. He decided to keep the car until the next day to test drive it. Afterwards, he advised me he was still unable to identify an issue with the shifting. When I picked my car up, it was still obvious to me that it was shifting abnormally, and much differently than it did before going in for repairs. On September 9th, it began acting unstable, jerking, and making noises. I took it back to the shop for the 3rd time. Before I could make it there, the car would no longer shift into reverse. Staff came and pushed the vehicle into the shop. They claimed they were sold and installed a faulty part. When they returned the car to me, the issue with shifting still existed, but again, I continued to drive it. On October 6th, I turned the vehicle in to them for the 4th time. On the 12th or 13th of October, I received my car back. I immediately noticed that the car wasnt running properly when I drove it away. I decided to keep driving, thinking I may just need to drive it for a while. That didnt work, however, since I have a 1 year warranty with Preferred Automotives, I had to continue driving the vehicle until it stopped running. On December 20th, the car began making the same noises it had before and would not accelerate, as it had done before. Since I use my car for work, I continue to lose out on income and now have to have the car repaired properly, which will be an additional expense because I cannot continue to take it to Preferred Automotives. To rectify this matter, I am requesting a refund from Preferred Automotives for the expenses paid to repair my car.
