  This property is already overtaxing people for rental however they are using a third-party called approve shield that screens all applicants after they have paid application fees, which are $89 per person that are not refundable and a $500 deposit to hold your unit. The approved shield people will ask for very sensitive information, and try to get you denied so that they can make money off of application fees. After taking all my sensitive information such as bank account jobs calling these people on your behalf in order to move in they do not still want to release the credit history or why they denied you and want you to pay high Cost between approved shield and the property Brookmere manors Im not sure who is scamming who because Illinois no longer security deposits require security deposit. I have a 789 credit score in my two co-applicants have credits that are 660 and higher and we all make , more than 4000 a month and they are still saying we are only approved under conditions which it would be $3900 of a security deposit that may not be refundable. Please be advised this is a scam, especially if they wont show what and why they made these conditions. They just want you to sign a lease Without even seeing any of this information. Now I am worried, and my applicants are worried that our sensitive information has been given out to people that may try to use it as fried later or identity theft please I hope this is not the case.

  Re: Return of security deposit for Unit *****. Office of The Manors at Brookmere Place Attention: Management ****************************************************************************** USA My son and I had a lease for a rental property in ***********, ********. After giving timely notice and paying through the end of the month, we moved out on September 24th, 2024. We were unaware of any damages to the unit when we departed, and we took photos before leaving.Our security deposit was not returned, and we were assessed damages, but no documentation was ever provided as required by the code (security deposit law) in ***********, ********. We notified the property in writing that:** Your team did not follow the 30-day deadline for the required list, so we are entitled to the full security deposit, penalties, and fees.** On a call with the property manager, Chi, (November 6, 2024) we were told that our security deposit would be returned. That did not happen. Instead, on November 19, 2024, a collections company called ********************* contacted us, demanding immediate payment of $466.55. It was mentioned that unless we paid immediately, this debt would be reflected on our credit reports. We paid this amount under protest and received a receipt.Once again, we request that our full security deposit and the $466.55 we paid today be returned to us.   ********** called me regarding my security deposit check and informed me the check had been returned. I updated them again with my new address and I never received it. Months went by and I decided to call to follow up and they said the check had been cashed and I explained it could not have and if it was it is fraud. They never did anything to help me retrieve my $750.00. They still owe me my security deposit that I never received.

  We issued a check in March 2022. After further investigation the check was unclaimed and was not cleared. We will follow up with ****** to verify the mailing address to reissue the check.
