December 25, 2023, my water lines froze and flooded my kitchen and bathroom and a bit of carpet and wood floors. Extensive damage was done to the floor and cabinets. ***** (*******) Claypool arrived with drying equipment about five days later and estimated a remodel cost estimate of $14,500 dollars covering all materials and labor. Because I already had a plumber and gas person, and I purchased my ow cabinets and sink, the total due was minus $9,500 dollars from his estimate. I was in a hotel for 3 months to complete a job for a 12footx15foot area. Once the floor, sink and toilet was in, I moved back in on April 1 even though the job was not complete. No plastic was put up between the rooms so my dining and living room were covered in sawdust and dirt. I had to clean it myself- six hours a day for five days. Luckily I had covered my books myself. He claims he finished the job one year later, Jan 4. Although he was paid in full, all ********* in April, 2023, He continued to harass me about the money due on plumber, cabinets and gas installation and put a mechanical lien on my house April, 2024. I paid out $4500.00 for cabinets and sink and $5,500 dollars for plumbing including $950.00 for gas. He would not subtract the money paid to other venders from his overall estimate even though I went ahead and paid him the full amount. He never submitted an itemized statement to recover what he felt wee additional expenses to my insurance company. He estimated additional expenses for $9,900 dollars that equaled almost the exact money that should have been subtracted from his estimate that I went ahead and paid in full anyway. Because a mechanical lien does not require any evidence I will have to hire a lawyer and go to court. I am a retired teacher of 45 years and an elder with good credit and never have not paid a bill. He is taking advantage of me as my house is almost paid off and he is trying to bully me with a fraudulent claim! The floor still needs caulked by the tub!

This consumer requested an additional $10,000 of work to be done on her home and has not paid for it. I will not remove the lien on her home.
