this guy took my money, showed up while I was at work, got his tools and told my son that he wasn't working since I wasn't paying him! I paid for half the job of the upstairs and other half when he was done. Downstairs I paid him for and the job he done was NOT good. I have cabinets I have to use a step stool to get to them. Mudding, sanding and painting is BAD. Any work he did done I'm having to pay to have it fixed. Almost caved in the ceiling cause he didn't know how to take a support wall out the right way. So it is now bowed and has to be jacked up and done right. So if he's insured I want to know how I find out.

    Business Response

When I went into the house that she owns.  The drywall was already mudded 3 quarters of a inch thick.  I had to sand it, and downstairs her brother in law did all the electric and it was catching fire.  I told her it would cost $5,000.00 upfront to get started and then and another $5,000.00 when finished.  She gave me $2,500.00 in promise that she applied for a loan with her son and that it would be approved between 30 and 45 days.  I worked on the property for two and a half months and every time I would ask her about the loan she would avoid the subject.  I asked her son about the loan and he stated that he did not know anything about a loan.  I asked her again about the loan and she avoided the question, and she stated that she could not borrow anymore money at that time.  So, I packed up all my tools and left.  I had 123 hours on the books.  I told her that we started this not to lie to me and if she had any problems with money to let me know and we could work out payment arrangements.  She told me that money was not a problem.  Her brother in law called me when she could not get a hold of me and I explained to him what had happened.  He told me that, that was different from what she had said.  He agreed with me about the money.  He stated that.  He and her was going to finish the house.  Her son also told you that she had three other contractor that quit because of this problem, and I also found out that the money she gave me she borrowed from her mom and dad and not the bank.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
It don't matter where the money came from he was paid in full for the downstairs. I gave him $2,500 for the 1st half of the upstairs. The other half was to be paid when completed. He called and text me about him needing more money all the time. He is the person who set the price, not by the hour. I did tell him I was out of money because I wasn't paying him anymore until it was completed. As for my loan that's not his business he was paid. I paid and got all the supplies he needed when he let me know what was needed. As he also said he NEVER talked to me about working out payments before he just left the job. He has no business talking with my sons about our business. This deal was between him and myself but he was constantly asking my family and friends about my money.

    Sincerely,
