I usually would do an over the range microwave installation myself but I had a car accident and broke some ribs so I tried *************** Appliance Installation. There were several things the two installers had done that were serious and dangerous. I discovered these when I came back from my dentist appointment having left my wife with a check for the installation. Upon my return I saw that the power cord was trapped between the mic and the cabinet. The mic was tilted forward noticeably. You could see the trapped power cord while standing in front of the mic. I was hoping that I could fix the trapped power cord problem by loosening the two top-front screws and pushing the cord back with a stick so it would not be trapped. After loosening the screws I could see that there was not enough room for cord. So I took the microwave off the wall and made adjustments so the cord would fit. After removing the microwave, I moved the wires that were directly wired to the electrical box and the wire nuts fell off the wires in the uncovered electrical box. Also, the ground wire was not grounded. The wire nuts were not nearly tight enough and if the wires touched the metal box there could have been a fire hazard. As long as the microwave was off the wall I decided to check the vent fan since it did not seem to be blowing hard enough. I don't have the duct work for external venting so it should be blowing out the top front of the mic and it was barley blowing at all. The installation instructions said the vent motor must be rotated to the correct position and if it is not that there was a, "Fire Hazard! Correctly install the vent fan before use". I found that the vent fan was not rotated to the correct position and therefore constituted a fire hazard! I believe that the *************** knew these two installers were seriously lacking in experience to do this kind of work and did not provide them with adequate training. This was really a bad experience with ***************.
