I purchased a bedroom set of nursery furniture for my newborn grandchild. After only four months use, the finish is wearing off two pieces. I contacted this furniture store and was told it was "normal wear and tear". This set is sold as a crib which can convert into a toddler bed and grow with the child into a full size bed and the accompanying bedroom furniture pieces. I spent $4000 on this set and it looks dirty and second hand. Additionally, when my grandchild can sit up and stand, I worry that if she puts her mouth on the crib rail, which all kids do, the finish will come off in her mouth. If I had known the white-ish finish would rub off so easily exposing the gray-ish wood underneath, I would have never purchased it. It is unconscionable that a company would sell this furniture as a lifetime set of furniture when they are aware the finish will rub off in a matter of a few months. I contacted the manufacturer and received the same "wear and tear" response. I will be filing a complaint against them, too. I would like my purchase price refunded so we can purcahse different SAFE furniture for my grandchild.

    Hello,

This customer is complaining about the finish rubbing off the furniture because there was rubbing friction from clothing as they were leaning against the dresser top to change the baby and also the crib front panel (footboard) of crib as they lean over to grab the baby out of the crib.  This is friction caused from clothing rubbing against the wood.  We notify all of our customers that this can happen at the point of sale and assure them that the less friction against the furniture, the better it is to avoid this situation.   This is normal wear & tear.  It is similar like any kind of friction.  Another example would be If you rub your had against drywall over time in the same spot, the paint that is on that drywall will rub off due to the friction.  This is the same exact situation that occurred here.  I can order a can of aerosol paint for them if they would like at no charge.  Please advise on the next step.

    Thank You!
