Bill's Drywall gave me an estimate of $2400 for some plaster demo, plus $5800 to hang drywall where plaster was. Also to remove & replace poorly mounted drywall, from a previous contractor. Included was several cracks, corners, and seam repairs, that a previous contractor had horribly screwed up. Each flaw was pointed out to Bills, during the estimate process. I was assured by Bills, it could all be properly fixed. Total cost would be $8200, parts ( some drywall & mudding ******************* I was also told up to 7 days mudding time, after all drywall hanging was complete. 3 days into the mudding process, *** from Bills Drywall told me all this extra work would cost additional money. I made him aware of the quoted time frame, along with the list of flaws, they were hired to fix. Bills employee received daily phone calls pressuring to get it finished.I then told *** from Bills Drywall, I want this done right, once and for all. That if more time and material was needed, beyond the quote, I would pay that extra amount. After correcting him again on the time frame and flaws to be repaired, they squeezed another $2500 into the original quote. As long as it was all complete and correct, I was ok with the $10700 total cost, though a lot more than I expected. I then paid a painting company just over $6000 for painting to complete the project. Now I have about $17000 invested, over the extremely high original costs, from years earlier.Less than 9 months later, the cracks that Bills assured me he could fix, reappear. Along with about 25 to 30 nail / s**** pops. At this point I noticed every seam was visible, due to a hurried, careless sanding job. I contacted Bills, and was given the excuse, that this was all caused by settling. I was also told that 2 days work and an additional $1650, could take care of. It's not a settling issue, it's a hurried, poor craftmanship issue. Different contractor quoted $8000, to fix Bills work, painting not included.
