This year at AirVenture in *******, EAA noted the 40th anniversary of the Challenger aircraft. The company making the Challenger based in ****** ** must have done something right to stay in business that long. However, I now question whether there is a legitimate company manufacturing the Challenger aircraft.1)In 2019 I contacted the Quad City Aircraft company about getting a demo ride and ordering a kit. I was referred to a local dealer here in ********.2)After the demo ride, a friend of mine and I proceeded to each order a kit (approx $15K/ea) which we paid in full with a certified check. The date was December 2019.3)We were given a projected kit delivery of around April 2020.4)COVID and the state of ******** more or less shut down the company around April 2020 and the company more or less ceased operations for maybe a year.5)My friend and I patiently waited until 2022 to inquire about the status of our kits .We could see via email that Challenger aircraft parts were being made and delivered. We could not obtain any information about our kits or any expected delivery dates.6)This year (around June 2023) we started making serious legal inquiries via certified letters to the company and company personnel to confirm our kit orders and to determine whether we would ever have a kit delivered or whether we could receive a refund of our money.7)To date (September 2023) the company has refused to officially respond to our inquiries about our kit orders or even acknowledge that we have kits or order. I do not want to see the company shut down, but also feel that the company is not acting in good faith with their customers. Certified letters have been sent to the company and officers of the company with signature acceptance, but the company has refused to acknowledge or address our issue.
