      I had them do my taxes for 2022 at ******* in ******. When I had them done for 2023 elsewhere, I thought looked like something maybe was wrong. I compared it with the 2022, they should have been almost identical. But, when looking at 2022 again, I noticed that one of the 1099's had been entered twice, this made my tax liability much higher made a difference of almost $800 in the amount of refund I should have received. When I went to their other office in ******, the gentleman there would not look at the paperwork or even let me try to explain the problem. He was extremely rude and asked me what made me think I knew more than his professional tax preparers, then just pushed the paperwork back to me without looking at it. I tried to reach someone at their headquarters numerous times but have not received a response. I have since had the tax return for 2022 amended by someone else.

      I used their drop off method and never got a call back until two weeks later when I went in I was told they didn’t understand how to do my taxes properly so I had to go to her boss and my third time dealing with this, and during the sit down the manager had to call his higher up and said he needed to be walked through the process. At the end of it all I am being charged around 854 dollars “after a discount” and 757 for my federal alone when I was told the reason it was so expensive was because I had multiple state w2s but I only had four short form w2s between Iowa and Illinois so something doesn’t seem to be lining up. Now I’m stuck feeling screwed with a one income household wondering if my taxes have been filed correctly and only a promise to do better next year. I can promise you I will always mention to the people I know to never deal with Jackson Hewitt
