I purchased a used **** Corvette Z06 from the dealership on Friday, January 19th ****. I was not allowed a test drive due to inclement weather. I attempted to negotiate $1k off the price due to the aftermarket parts the previous owner installed (negative affect to value), uncertainty in mechanical condition due to not being able to test drive it, and the lengths I went to buy the car (drove 6 hours one way, paid full in cash). I drove it home with no issues but once I got it home I started discovering many issues in the following days. The battery drained significantly and wouldn't start, so I charged the car overnight. I went to to drive it to work but car only made it ~5 minutes before losing all electronics and having all the error codes pop up. I charged it for a full 24-hours and tried again later that day. This time, I was able to make it to ***** (to pick up the car's title that was mailed by the dealer), but I got stranded there from the same issues. An employee gave me a jump and I was able to barely make it back home before the car died again. After hours of research, testing, and diagnosis, the culprit is likely a bad alternator ($250 for parts) and/or bad battery ($250 for parts). They lied as they told me the car was mechanically strong and they did a "multi-point" inspection. I made a refund estimate to make the situation right and I made it easy by asking them to just refund the credit card charge (I paid $27k cash and $1,697.91 on the card). The repair costs and time is more expensive than $1700, but I'm trying to be realistic and reasonable despite all the trouble this car and dealership has given me. I've expressed my opinions through reviews, trying to contact the salesmen, owner, etc. but to no avail. They won't even provide me with inspection reports that I've requested several times.I have extensive documentation/pictures on all text messages, prices, diagnosing, results, etc. that I can provide.
