    I purchased a car and plates from this company on 12/10/2024. At the time of the transaction, I paid $5,000 in cash and then monthly payments of $650.53. The company promised to send me plates for the car, but after 4 months there are no plates. The company did not try to solve the problem and ignores any communication. Each time they write that the plates will be made, but do nothing. Communication is maintained only in correspondence, since they completely ignore calls.

    Background of the Issue:
    Customer purchased the vehicle from our dealership in October of 2024.

    When the purchase was previously traded in to the store in a separate transaction with a separate party, the dealership discovered the certificate of title had an odometer discrepancy. The original certificate of title provided by the customer who traded in the vehicle printed an odometer reading of ****** miles (Not Actual). The current reading of the odometer at the time the vehicle was purchased by the dealership was actually lower.

     

    Initial Correction Attempt:

    The dealership obtained an Affirmation of Correction of Title, signed by seller (from initial transaction). Dealership applied for a corrected title with an affirmation of correction odometer statement and submitted to IL Secretary of State for a corrected title.

    New title was received by dealership in December 2024 (issued 12/2/24) however, the Illinois Secretary of State mistakenly issued a duplicate title instead of a correct title (odometer was still incorrect).

     

    Follow-Up with ***********************:

    The dealership re-engaged with ***** and reached out to the *************************************** (****) for guidance.

    The application was resubmitted to the *********************** in December 2024, which at that time was noted to have a processing backlog of over two months. Per *** tracking, ***** retake department received the retake application in December 2024.

     

    Actions Taken by Dealership and steps for resolution:

    We regret the delays in the state processing system, however we the dealership has done everything within its power to correct the title issue and is waiting on the Illinois Secretary of State's Office to complete processing.

    As of the most recent title and registration inquiry, it appears the ***** has issued a title as of 2/13/2025. The dealership is awaiting receipt of that title.

    As soon as the corrected title is received, we will immediately process the plates for our customer.

    We remain committed to working with the customer and are available for any further clarification he may need.

    General Manager of store has made multiple attempts to connect with customer via phone calls and email with the information we have on file to discuss the steps we have taken; as well as express our commitment to resolving the issue promptly.

    We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will promptly finalize the vehicles registration once the corrected title is issued.

    For the first time since the purchase I received a response from this company and an explanation of the situation. No one called or wrote to me. I tried to contact them and they ignored me and did not give any specific answers. I want to know when my license plate will be ready and I will be satisfied only when I receive them.

    Hello - 

    Contrary to the claim, we have not failed to contact ****** *******. Attached are our company's phone records and emails from our General Manager to ****** since December 2024. Additionally, our General Manager has been attempting to reach ****** since February 13, 2025.


    As stated in our previous response, the title was received at our store and has been sent via *** to *************************** The tracking number is 1Z756W240197755164. According to tracking updates, the package was delivered in *********** on 2/25/2025. Our customer should receive the plates at the address on file within the next few days, possibly as soon as today, directly from the Secretary of State ***************************

In your last letter, you informed me that you had reached an agreement with the company that owes them to me and sent me the tracking number for the parcel. Two weeks later, the parcel has not arrived and its status does not change. Tracking number: 1Z756W240197755164. And also ID # ******** - **********************. Please help me resolve this situation.
