    In November 2024, I signed a residential lease with the Belvedere management. In December of 2024, I was being stalked and harassed by an unknown person. I notified the management and was released from my lease. My release date was December 8th. On December 6th, The Belvederes management team entered my unit unauthorized and without my prior knowledge. I was not made aware of this entry before or after. I only found out because I had security cameras inside the home. This is already on top of my family and I feeling unsafe in the unit because again, there was someone stalking and harassing me and management knew about this. Managements response to the unauthorized entry was that it was an unintentional entry. It was not unintentional, they knew exactly what unit they were entering and it was entered intentionally. After moving out and returning the keys on December 12th, management has failed to return our security deposit. Illinois state laws require an itemized statement of any damages to be submitted to tenant within 30 days. This was not done. There were NO damages to the unit and it only needs a touch up paint on a few walls. As stated in my lease, the security deposit will be returned within 45 days. Today makes day 40 and we are being told no deposit has been issued and we are not understanding why. This management company has been very unhelpful, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. Since the day I contacted property manager ***** about the unauthorized entry, we have been treated unfair. ***** has been very back and forth and rude. The regional manager is aware of what is going on as she is attached to the emails and she has not tried to help us either. We want the management company to follow Illinois guidelines and the guidelines of the lease. We have been unsuccessful in resolving this matter. They have been trying to find ways to make everything hard for us, again, ever since the day they walked into our unit unauthorized.

    Timeline of Events:
    On November 26, 2024, the resident, *****, informed The Belvedere Apartments of concerns regarding a stalker and requested an emergency lease termination.
    During this period, ******* ******, Regional Property Manager, and ***** *******, Property Manager of ********************************, assisted The Belvedere Apartments in managing operations due to the Property Manager, ***** ******, being on leave.
    Lease Termination Agreement:
    ******* confirmed via email that ***** and Precious were allowed to terminate their leases by December 8, 2024.
    On December 2, 2024, ***** requested a lease extension until December 22, 2024, citing delays in housing paperwork. Upon verification with the ***************************************, it was confirmed this claim was inaccurate. ***** was informed that she could still vacate by the agreed-upon date of December 8.
    Payment and Damages:
    ***** and Precious were informed that balances for rent and utilities needed to be cleared before lease termination. Rent was paid on December 7, 2024, and utilities were paid on December 17, 2024.
    Security Deposit Disposition:
    The move-out inspection, along with invoices and the security deposit disposition, was completed and sent to ***** and Precious on January 23, 2025, within the legal timeframe of 45 days. This included detailed documentation of damages. The timeframe the site had to send the disposition was by January 30th 2025.
    Unauthorized Entry Allegation:
    On December 6, 2024, maintenance entered the apartment following an urgent request from ***** for heating assistance. Due to miscommunication, maintenance proceeded to address the issue while ***** was unavailable to grant access. ***** promptly apologized for this error, and ***** accepted the apology at the time.
    Allegations of Racism and Unprofessional Behavior:
    After receiving the disposition, ***** called ***** racist, which is an unfounded and serious accusation. We have maintained professionalism throughout this process and ensured all actions were in compliance with Illinois state laws and company policies.
    Conclusion:
    The Belvedere Apartments has acted in good faith to resolve all matters fairly and in compliance with legal requirements. We provided timely communication,allowed lease termination under exceptional circumstances, and delivered the security deposit disposition within the required timeframe.
    We respectfully request this complaint be closed, as we have fulfilled all obligations in accordance with the lease agreement and state regulations.
